Just wondered if anybody else had received a letter from them with details of any compensation/refund? I received a letter at the start of august - not heard anything since. Spoke to them today and they wouldn't / couldn't give me any more info ... Can't find anybody else online that's received anything!0

Yes, I got a compensation offer letter a week or so ago. They have offered me the standard £50 plus 20% of the repayments I made since the letter (£104.84)
Total = £154.84
The letter states that I can accept their offer, or I can ask for an individual assessment to be done.
I will more than likely just take the "free" money, but out of curiosity is it worth a shot at an assessment?
I shall quote a section of the letter I receivedWe can individually assess your claim and make a decision based on any information you can send us that helps show your losses. We will then assess the compensation that may be offered to you.
In order for us to assess your losses, we ask that you consider your individual circumstances and send us information to show costs you have incurred as a direct result of receiving letters from Chainey D'Amato and Shannon and/or Barker and Lowe Recoveries.
Please also consider whether you have suffered distress and inconvenience and include information on this. The Financial Ombudsman Service provides guidance on its website (Edit: Can't post the link) for distress and inconvenience payments, and you may find this useful to consider.
Just wondering how far it could be taken?0 -
I still haven't received my offer they are saying the end of September now, this is so frustrating. They seem to be moving the goalposts everytime.0

Wife received an offer of £50.00 plus £207.80.
Accepted that about 3 weeks ago but still waiting on cheque.
I've received 3 letters to date but no actual offer yet, I'll be happy with the £50 however my loan was the bigger of the 2 I'm sure.0 -

Hi
I conifrmed my details on line after receiving a letter and e-mail off them saying I was affected. However, after ringing for an update today the system 'hadn't updated' my confirmation of details so he has 'kindly' done that today so the process can start. Might be worth giving them a ring.

I sadly had one of their loans.. when i had a part time job.. their collection practices were obscene,, they kept requesting money from my account when they should not, to such an extent i had to close my bank account.. \then they resorted to telephoning my employers several times a day.. illegaly informing them what the call was about, it got so bad i had to leave my job as i could not face several calls a day in work, and the problems it caused between me and my boss..not to mention the shame of them knowing.
I ended up with no job.. no money, and was almost close to ending my life because of these parasites0 -
Anyone else still not received their compensation letter? Have chased a few times but got no where!0

Nope, still not heard a bean! I've rang them a few times to try and get an update and have been told the same thing word for word pretty much. They initially said they would complete it all by the end of September, but got told to call again at the end of last week if I hadn't heard anything, so did and just got told they were dealing with a backlog.
Im not holding out any hope now, so if it comes through it comes. They will have to deal with the latest revelation as well so doubt I will hear anything before the end of the year!0 -
Hi I received my compensation pack today and need some help. I suffer with mental health problems and these letters did cause an adverse effect on my mental health at the time. Only problem is due to my mental health i dont remember exact dates and i burn all the original letters whlst i was un well. So how can I prove this? Am I likely to end up with nothing?0
