Holiday to Croatia - Kuna or Euros and best place to buy?

Hi all,
I'm going to Croatia next week for a fortnight and wondering whether it's best taking Kuna or Euros? (they accept both but am I right in thinking to go with their local currency for best value for money?)
I've looked on the travel money comparison tool on here and Tesco Bank comes near the top (I don't want a Credit Card) - just wondering if anyone has used their delivery service and what happens to unused currency at the end of the hol - do they buy it back considering there isn't a Tesco Bank located anywhere near me so I'd have to send it through the post?
Thanks for any advice.
Clare

What do you mean "they" accept Euros? Some places might, eg hotels and restaurants that cater to tourists, but most places just accept their own currency, ie the Kuna. Even Germans were changing their Euros to Kuna. And places that do take Euros are likely to markup the rate.Hi all,

Don't bother changing any cash in advance, or maybe just £30 or so if you want a bit to start you off. Get a decent card eg the Clarity and withdraw from cashpoints, they are as common there as here.0 -
Thanks for advice re Kuna vs Euros. I will change a small amount as you suggest over here before I go, but don't want a credit card so am thinking about getting a pre-paid travel card instead - My Travel Cash has no card, purchase or withdrawal fees for international ATMs so looks good even though I've never used one before. Any suggestions/advice on this?0

All pre-paid cards have some sort of fee, if they don't have explicit fees they'll markup the exchange rate. I don't use pre-paid cards but I believe the Kalixa card is good value - see the cheap travel money thread in here.0
