I looked at my jam again today and now seems to have set, could have been to do with the heat in here on sat i guess

really pleased it has set, it does take longer when it is warm and I imagine it gets hot at yours, if mine does not set hard I just use it on icecream, rice pudding, porridge, pancakes the list is endless, it never bothers me it still gets used. :D

I have used peaches and nectarines together to make jam, and it was really nice, I am sure the apricots would go in fine as well, i find most similar fruits taste nice together,

I think I might just have to do this, I'm a little short of ingredients for much else (only about an ounce of self-raising flour in the cupboard!). I've found recipes for peach and nectarine, and peach and apricot, so all three hopefully wouldn't be too weird. Either way, my dad would probably eat it regardless :D

    Question for Savvybuyer

I bought some 'pulled pork' from mr a.
apparently you have to bake for 45 minutes then instructions go into great lengths to tell you how to pull the pork appart:eek:

Surely if I have to pull it apart it is not actually 'pulled pork' but just a slab of pork and diy instructions:rotfl:

Is this flouting the advertising rules?:rotfl:

Thanks for the suggestions ladies, my only issue is that hubby won't eat dessert or pudding of any kind, and so anything I make will either have to be consumed by my good self (and I'm still unconvinced on non-banana fruit in general) or taken into work. Do you think I could do something using just a few of each fruit mixed together and it wouldn't be too weird?

go for it, it will be fine, I have made melon and raspberry jam. as i had raspberries and a melon to use it all got eaten, chocolate and banana jam because ds3 asked me to. and kiwi and white currant just because i could :D so your fruit cant be worse than them :rotfl:

:rotfl:I doubt it, but it's ages since I knew anything about trading standards regulations. I'd have thought if the instructions appear on the packaging that would have clarified that you needed to do the pulling and the term 'pulled pork' is therefore just a turn of phrase. I get what you're saying though!
