I have to say the place is jam packed with Scots at the moment  I was asked in As by the SA if I was enjoying my holiday :rotfl::rotfl: She commented that she had served loads of Scottish people over the weekend

Whenever I wear the panda socks I will think of Arthien :A
They will henceforth be known as Arthien's socks:)
This makes me feel both sad and happy!
I hope you and all the other sock thieves enjoy them, I'm going to try and pretend that parrots and flamingo socks are a good enough substitute for me
P.s. When do I get my next star? I thought it was 500 posts, but maybe it's 2000 or something?0 -

By the way, In my experience you could spend £5 including the paper and its value would come off. Ie no need for £5 before you buy the paper. Been a while since i tried it thoughApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -

really helpful guy on till. practically frog marched me to get a self vend free cappuccino. to take away.
now can anyone tell me when I get a free newspaper (mid week) does the cost of the paper count towards the £5 spend. or do I have to spend £5 + the newspaper. tia
As my only local supermarket is a W, I can actually answer this as I've experimented quite a bit.
I always use the self service & was frequently playing till bingo with the panabello vouchers - coffee, paper, panabello & depending on the paper/day (pre £10 spend) also a mars/malteesers etc voucher = £5 ish. No spend required . Every voucher requires assistance & you have to scan your W card before the vouchers. Tills also see the price before reductions (not woopsies) as your spend i.e. milk @ £1.39 but £1 for cardholders so the till sees £1.39 spend. Same goes for whatever the current cardholder 10% off is. We also have to spend £5 to get free parking at mine.
To do drinks on there, you select from the lower right something like 'other items' (can't remember what it says, but only a couple to choose from so you can't really go wrong) & one of the 2 options shows a drink at the front of the picture. You also need to select that you aren't adding it to the bag (you can't continue until you have done this).
Don't know if this is common at W, but you can only pay by card at self service tills at mine. If I'm not playing till bingo, I 'spend' under £1 each time.
My branch are really trouty with vouchers. Anyone over 20 turn their nose up at you (I've done well out of complaining to head office, but they don't change). They'll also say you have to spend £5 after vouchers to get you paper & the drink & paper don't count towards this. Self service is definitely the way to go.0
