She can identify her own posts because they are different in appearance even if the content cannot be read. If every Ford Focus was white and every other car was red, you would be able to identify a Ford Focus without seeing any of the usual clues you use now. You'd just look for a white car.

It simply doesn't work that way. For a start, just sending 3 would be impractical. CBL refusal rates alone are approx 50%. Add to that the fact that the first 3 places are likely to be in the first 3 places, or thereabouts, for any other similar property they have bid on and you soon see how impractical that would be. And that's before you get to historic rent arrears, previous tenancy issues or criminality, specific medical needs etc etc etc.
i picked the number 3 as i dont know how many names the council nominate.
i know the council do the 'vetting' behpre allowing anyone to bid, so anyone with historic arrears, anti social behaviour etc would have already been refused

did you not bother reading my explanation of why i use bold?
    clearly not.
its a bit disconcerting having 2 total strangers discussing me when i am in the room ;)

just in case you missed my post ...
i use bold, because although i am unable to read what i type visually, it allows me to tell which posts are mine.
this means i can carry on with the thread at the point where i left it, rather than having to start at the beginning to find out where i was up to

People can spend quite a while on SH waiting lists, so what happens if the issues occur after application but before allocation? That's the reason for providers carrying out checks at the point of offer, rather than the point of application.

Why should social tenants not pay for the amount of bedrooms they have? Everybody else has to, either in higher rent or higher house price if they are buying.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

i can only go by my experience.
i went to the council and they did the checks and told me i could go into a hostel that day or wait a few weeks for a property to come up.
4 days later they phoned asking if they wanted to nominate me to the HA.
no more than 10 minutes later the HA phoned and asked me to meet them at the property the following morning. they showed me round and then placed the keys in my hamnd and asked me to sign.
as i have said before, there is no shortage of SH and so no one wauts more than a few months.
maybe thats why it works the way it does?

I'm not sure yours is an experience shared by the majority.

I am sorry, but unless it was in this thread or in your signature (which would be an excellent place to explain it) I would not have seen it. Incidentally, if you go to Subscribed Threads and click the little arrow to the left of the thread name, you will go to the first unread post in the thread, so you don't really need to do it anyway.

it was this thread. post 35.
i am quite used to and happy at the way i use the forum, and as it causes no harm to anyone else i will keep it the way it is.
i dont mind people asking why i use the bold but do find it irritating when other posters discuss me and my reasons rather than asking ME
