Virgin Media Slow Down while Upgrade

Hi I am new to posting but I am trying to find out if I am the only one having a problem. I signed an extension with Virgin 10 Days ago for phone, TV and Broadband (50MB). I now find that in the evening my service can be a slow as 0.5Mb. When called and nice person at Virgin I was advised that they were upgrading the service and it would be intermittently slow to very slow until 9th July or even longer !!. Anybody else finding this.
Also do I have any redress to Virgin for them not fulfilling their contract?
I have four adults in the house all using the Internet for school and other work. They are not amused. The upgrade was the reason I went with new contract.

Internet Speed is not guaranteed as part of the contract, that's why it's advertised as "up to 50mb".
However, you should be able to get at least reduction in your bill if the problem continues for the period. You could probably also argue that the upgrade hasn't been performed and so revert to being out-of-contract rather than the new minimum term.
Isn't your area due a free upgrade at some time this year? Why have you chosen to upgrade now?0 -
