Orange BB £5 'for life' now increasing to £12!

THe broadband deal was £5 per month as long as you had your orange mobile contract.

EE have written to say that price is now increasing to £12 per month, unless you take a line rental from them and they'll offer a different deal.

The original offer was sold as being 'for life' (of your mobile contract)

Has anyone else had this notification, or can anyone offer any help?

TIA

If it was for the life of the contract, then it sounds like the original contract is about to die.

You should be able to leave without penalty if you wish to.

Thanks Quentin. The original deal was sold as being £5 for as long as you kept a mobile contract with them. That mobile contract is still ongoing.

I wondered if anyone else has had the same letter, and what we can do to stop them changing this.

I didn't really want to leave, I wanted the £5 broadband to continue

I thought a mobile contract was normally for 12/ 18/ 24 months and after that you were "out of contract" and free to leave without penalty, if you wished, at a months notice?
  • Why don,t you challenge them, looks like they can do whatever they like,
after all you can't just say ill pay you £2 instead of £5 can you.

It looks like they wish to change the terms of the contract

There will be a condition allowing changes but both sides need to agree.

You don't want to accept the new condition so will be able to get out of the contract with no penalty.
