Perth gets my vote
West coast is supposed to be great0 -
Perth gets my vote as well. And the Sydney Bridge Climb, isn't all its cracked up to be.0

I cannot comment on Sydney but I agree with all the other plaudits for Perth. Freemantle is fantastic, Rottnest is a great day out and as someone earlier mentioned, the Swan River wine excursion is excellent. The beaches are amazing.0

Mars, Venus or Saturn for the weekend?
....
Given the choice, which of the three would you recommend and why?
P.S. Any responses that mention shopping or clubbing will be deemed
inflammatory and unhelpful and will be dismissed out of hand.

It has to be Sydney for a weekend. Really like Perth (just been out there 4 weeks ago.....) but Sydney would win by a mile. Last year Brisbane was a bit disappointing but may not have given it long enough there - 2 days never enough first time.
Can recommend the Rocks ghost tours on a Saturday evening in Sydney - very enjoyable.:jPoliticians are like nappies - they should be changed regularly and for the same reason (Barry Cryer)0
