BT ripping my hair out

I really help someone can give me some advice as I am really ripping my hair out. I am emotionall exhausted and so stressed.

I would like to first point out that I have been told it is too late to cancel my contract and that they would charge me, I told them they wouldn't have a leg to stand on but I really don't know now.

All I wanted for them to do was hurry up and do their job but they haven't.

Apologies in advance, this is quite long. (I will make it as short as possible)

I will summarise.

I signed up to BT a while back and I was told the engineer would comr out on the 16th June.

When I first signed up they told me my address didn't exist so I gave them another postcode I had been given for this address. Later through that week i realised that this wasn't actually mine and the letting agency had given me the wrong one.

I immediately called BT up and updated my address.

I took a day off on the 16th to wait in the for the hub and the engineer. I received a call in the afternoon from the engineer asking me where I was. It turned out he was at the wrong address, he was only accross the road though thank goodness so he came and sorted out the line (This meant the phone line was registered to the wrong address).

I called BT as fast as I could to let them know and asked them if there was any way they could notify Parcel Force that they were going to the wrong address and they said there was nothing they could do. It turned out the advisor had only changed my billing address rather than my delivery.

He said he would send another one out but I was furious because I had taken a day off and he said he could have one out the next day, I told him it was useless as I was not in the property as I was at work. I asked if i could collect the parcel from the post office depot that day and he said yes.

I called the Post Office and I found it had been sent back to BT.

I then called that evening and ordered my new hub and was told there was a problem. The previous advisor had cancelled my entire account! I was fuming, I asked them to send me out another trying to keep my cool. They promised it would now get sent to my partners work address as no one would be here.

Next day I find out that the order that was meant to have been placed was never placed. Yet again I was on the phone re-ordering the hub yet again. I was promised this would be delivered to the correct address and I have audio proof of this as after the second call with them I started recording everything.

The parcel was sent to the wrong address! I had to go to Parcel Force depot and get it, thankfully it was there this time. Phew!

The internet started up and everything was great, I even got the speed that I was told I would get. Now the order had been compledted I decided I would get the Youview box as I had wanted to order it at the beginning. The order went through all fine until today...

I got a voicemail whilst at work "Hi Lawrence, your order has been cancelled, we will call you in a few days to re order, thanks again for choosing BT".

I have called them up now and they have said they need to change my address as it's still registered at the wrong address. I won't be able to re order the box until the 27th!

I'm so tired of constantly calling them, the advisor has told me that from now on I will get called but I don't believe that for a second. I was promised I would get a call on Saturday regarding compensation between 3pm - 4pm. (I have recorded proof of this)

I never got the phone call. I was previously told I would get £8 off, what a pathetic attempt at shutting me up. I told them to cancel my delivery charge as I don't feel I should pay that, they agreed and I also made it very clear that I wasn't paying the £130 activation fee that they billed me for as on my previous order that they cancelled it was a special offer. They have done that now as well but after all of this stress I don't believe on month of broadband free is enough. It's complete bull.

I need the internet for work so I don't think I really have the time to wait another two weeks for internet and i'm probably stuck with BT now. :(

Anyway, if anyone can be bothered reading this then please give me your advice or opinion.

I am also in the process of writing a complaint letter to send to BT as I feel they don't take you seriously when you contact via phone or email.

Thanks guys

No, but we weren't under a fixed term contract with them at that point... mind you, I'd have happily paid to escape them!!

Unfortunately, I have just moved into a new place so I don't have the money to cancel. I wish I had gone with Sky and took advantage of their spring deal
