Yawn... yet another poster who thinks because they know a few people with a condition every other person with it should be as high functioning... despite the fact that it varies....
Er no....if you read this thread correctly myself and others have been trying to explain to the OP dyslexia is not a mental health issue....and that it is a brain-based learning disability....
I'm always amazed how some people on these forums always think they know what other members think or believe!!!!!0 -
subsidize*
This is why I say the government could subsidize law firms. It would help in getting more solicitors understanding benefits, if there isn't any money to be made not many solicitors are going to be inclined to help unfortunately.
Because we all know that law firms need subsidies, don't we?0 -

The more i think about it, the post by kxmx is pointlessly stupid and does'nt make sense.
Why on earth would i or anybody else think all dyslexia sufferers are high functioning???
Everyone is different and function to different levels illness, disability or not..Why is it some people get offended when positivity is shown towards people that have a disabilty and ignorantly believe that that person has no understanding of a condition if they don't themselves suffer from it.0 -
Come on guys, what is going on? I think both sides make some valid points but taking things personally and acting like children is very immature.
Dyslexia as I pointed out is a very complex problem, which new research suggest is a brain functionality problem, which can be classed as a mental health problem, since there is a clear genetic link to it. So lets not be too dismissive of that.0 -
Bowls as in what he eats his cereal from, or bowls as in the weighted balls that you attempt to get near to the jack?
Come on Bill, I am sure you know the answer from the context of the post. Stop acting like you do not know what I was talking about.:p Definitely not the balls you bowl to try and get a batsmen out with.0 -
seems to be that all bill can do is pick on other peoples spelling mistakes ....Come on Bill, I am sure you know the answer from the context of the post. Stop acting like you do not know what I was talking about.:p Definitely not the bowls you bowl to try and get a batsmen out with.
he did it to me at 10 this morning... then when he was told of the reason he decided not to apologise but just to ignore jis comment.
you would think he'd learn....
maybe the gact that he doesnt learn from his mistakes leads him to the conclusion that no one else can either ......

Dyslexia is a brain-based learning disability not a mental health problem.. i know 3 people with dyslexia the most serious sufferer is an officer in the army, one works in a law office and the other in HR..all perfectly capable people.
Yes!!
I'm dyslexic. As is my brother and sister. It hasn't really held us back.
In my case I have to really think about left and right and often transpose letters when spelling. There are many successful high profile dyslexics. Like many conditions different people are affected in different ways & degrees.
It is not a mental health issues. It's a learning disability0 -

Thankyou dippy, another poster seems to of taken offense in the fact that i posted about 3 people who are high functioning, it just so happens they are the only 3 people i know that suffer from dysxlexia and therefore could only comment on them.:)0
