Where else to sell other than eBay?

Just realised that eBay take a cut of P&P as well, when did this happen?? Any suggestions where else to sell online, please? I already do on Gumtree and occasionally Preloved but things don't sell as quickly on those sites. I'm not keen on Car Boot Sales.
Thanks.
Thanks.

The announcement about FVfs on p and p was announced about a year ago and came into force in September.
As for where else to sell it depends on what you are trying to sell, a business with new stock for instance might do well on Amazon, although it is worth noting that they also charge fees on p and p. a private seller with second hand items probably has less options, although it is always worth considering places that you have used to buy from in the pasr.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Although ebay charge a lot. You do get a lot of traffic. Plenty of people from all over the country may view your item. Maybe even from other countries.
I had a guy come down from Scotland for an item. I thought there was no way he would turn up. But he did. Seems he bought stuff from all around and have a couple of days collecting them all.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
The eBay fees are frustrating but if you imagine it to be like an auction house then the fees are justified really (for comparison, Not on the High Street charge 25% commission and also take a cut of the P&P). I've been caught out on the P&P a few times by underestimating costs, so always make sure you weigh your boxed item first, calculate the cost using the royal mail price finder (don't forget to add on the 20% VAT if it's quoted separately), then add 10% or more to cover eBay's fees.0

The internet is a great provider of power to people, a true revolution in every sense. I don't think history will honour those corporations well, ones such as google and eBay and Amazon, who have sought to pull back the power with global domination in mind. But the main problem, at the moment is just capitalism, and people's natural inclination to follow the latest trend, and this feeds into the homogenisation of supply channels. Anyone remember the "do no evil" google?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Are you selling as a business or just old items that you'd normally sell at a car boot sale? If it's the latter, I'd try Facebook. There's plenty of groups called 'buy and sell in (local area) etc.' There's no fees, just a few ground rules and as it's local, you don't need to charge or pay for p+p - they just come and pick it up! I've made over £100 in the past month or so, and I've sold so many things, even things I thought wouldn't sell. I also find it better than ebay as you can sell things that would be too big to pay for p+p (I had three mini fridges that all sold almost immediately! It's worth a try0

You could rent a market stall or a shop, go door to door, leaflet your neighborhood, set up your own website. There are lots of online selling sites, most of which are a waste of time, the fact you have to ask what they are would suggest they aren't as good as Ebay..0

For business sellers not registered for VAT and for private sellers the VAT does not needed to be calculated as it is not charged on top of the postage, except for one airmail service.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well I need to get into this eBay lark to get rid of some stuff, but the cut puts me off a bit. Am new to this, recently purchased something via Gumtree and have got a real taste for it now! But the problem is exactly that it doesn't have the same traffic as eBay (hence my bagging a complete bargain this weekend).Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

The Royal Mail price finder website quotes prices with '+VAT' afterwards for anything going by Parcelforce which you have to use if you're sending a heavy or large item through the Post Office.
Edit: I've now edited my original post to make it clearer, thanks soolin0
