Android Tablet TV Apps

Hi does anyone use an android tablet eg hudl to watch tv via an hdmi lead?
I have one, I've tried a few apps out - the on demand apps from itv, channel 5, channel 4 and bbc plus the tvcatchup app.
I wondered if anyone knew of any other apps. Google has suggested TVplayer or myPlayerPro (which costs £3).
I can get freeview on my tv but it is a bit hit and miss as to reception. Picture quality is also better via the hdmi connected hudl.
I know to get certain channels you have to have virgin media or sky or nowtv. I am however looking at which is the best mix to get most channels/programs (I would watch) at best price.

Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Not all of the Android TV apps work via a HDMI cable - SkyGo doesn't. I have Sky Now app in my tv so haven't tested it via the tablet, but it gives you access to SKy movies, and about 10 tv channels - movies is about £8 per month, tv channels is about £6 per month - estimates cos I can't remember. Both have a catch up/watch on demand service. I hate the Itv player. Just wanted to share that.0
