Help please!
I'm not a natural crafter but hoping someone can help please!
Getting married soon and would like some personal touches (hope they will help the budget)
Fristly, I'd like to make some of the glittered glasses I've seen for sale online- has anyone any Oradea how to make them? I'm hoping they will be the wedding favour too- with a few candles on the tables I like the sparkles from glasses idea. I've looked but can't seem to find how to make them washable!
Secondly- I'd like to give out fabric square to my guests for them to write/creTe a message of us so we can make a quilt afterwards as a keepsake. Any advice on what fabric/patterns would be best to use and what size?
Thank you

Don't know about the glasses, never tried any! The squares of fabric need to be quite plain I would think and written on with fabric painting pens. The Works have special offer on fabric pens at the minute so check it out!!0

Haven't tried it myself but seen the glitter glasses pop up on pinterest so many times and DIY ones are done with glitter and modge podge (an american glue you can buy online or in craft stores, very similar to PVA but think it seals better so probably more effective for a project like this). The glasses aren't dishwasher safe though. This blog post shows how to do it and has photos of how well they stand up to washing by hand:

If you want something more durable I think glass etching looks great. This tutorial shows how to do it but there are loads out there.

Look up the Frugalcrafter on UTube or Pinterest. http://uk.pinterest.com/tlmackenzie63/frugal-recipes-glue-mod-podge-glimmer-mists/0

Calico fabric would be good for your fabric squares idea. Calico is untreated natural cotton and available very cheaply and has a lovely rustic feel and would be timeless. You can but it pre-shrunk which will save you washing it, but perhaps you wouldn't wash it anyway if you're having people write on it!
A 5" square is a popular size for patchwork0 -
To make painted glasses you need glass paint (and outlaners - with glass paint as well). Then it will be washable. If you hand wash, it will last really long. With dishwasher eventually it will be scratched away.
Check this thread, not much there yet but might come later: forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=49936910
