He can tax using that, just make sure he sends it off to DVLA afterwards or the Post Office may do it.

Do NOT fill in the V62 and pay £25, he has the V5C, LH page to tax and send off.

Just to close the thread.
The PO happily took the LH side with sons name on as new keeper - issued tax - kept LH page to send off.:T

As for his car - missing LH page. £25 fee to replace. Hes searching again.:(

so much hype is put on the V5 that it is a joke, it menas diddly squat as to who the legal owner is,
when you advertise the car explain in the advert that he has lost the front(LH) page but has new keeper part,and that you will happily show proof of identity to any purchaser.
they dont get the missing page anyway,so no spending £25
