Finally becoming a grown up

We are just going through the process of buying our first house and despite having 3 kids and being married, I feel this is the last nail in my coffin of youth and i will be a fully fledged grown up!
What made you feel fully grown or do you not?

Strangely I always felt grown up enough to get married and have kids but never felt (still don't) feel grown up enough to get a mortgage. With no income of my own, I'd never get one anyway.

I am a mummy to one, have lived alone for 13years and work full time, due to get married in 3 months and I STILL feel not grown up! When I buy alcohol I always expect to be ID'd and feel disappointed when I don't :rotfl:

Buying the first sofa that wasn't a futon for visitors. I officially reached middle age a few years ago when I bought a greenhouse. I'll only reach old age if my world shrinks, I stop being able to chew my toenails and I stop being interested in learning things.

I was married, had a home and three children but I didn't feel grown up until my father died when I was 39. I felt I'd moved up a rung on the ladder.

    That's so sad but true.

For me it's when you open up your address book to write Christmas cards and you realise just how many people have gone. I still use the same address book from when I left home so its very strange seeing all the names of people that aren't here any more.

Its really sad but the first time when I felt like a proper grown up was when my nan came to me for help when she started having a stroke. Usually things like that were kept from me and she'd put on a brave face and try not to upset me with but when she asked me to phone her an ambulance whilst crying that I knew then I was seen as an adult and that shocked me.
