Well done! Many of us have been in that position and shared your experience and anxiety so delighted that the storm clouds have lifted for you.
Our first redundancy experience many years ago made us very determined that the first thing we would do going forward was to put every surplus penny into paying off our mortgage as early as possible so that if ever it did happen again we would not have to worry about the building society repossessing our house. It DID happen again, and very unexpectedly. By that time we had been able to repay the mortgage and it proved one of the best moves we had ever made in terms of making a difficult position more easily faced.0 -
Ah that is great news, really pleased for you. Congratulations. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0

Yes, my thoughts too........0 -
Give yourselves a few months to get yourselves financially back on your feet again then go for it! You will save a fortune in interest over the long term and now's good time to start while mortgage interest rates are still low.0
