Speed Dating

Before we were married, my wife got persuaded to go along to one of those events by a friend who wanted some moral support. They ended up falling out over it because my wife ended up with six interested blokes and her friend had none.
I wasn't surprised because I think obvious desperation puts people off.0 -

Love the multiple choice idea!"'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Try to keep it conversational rather than like an interview. I absolutely hate dates where I feel like it's an interview and they're too busy thinking about the next question than hearing what I'm saying.
Find something to chat about and let it naturally flow from there.
Don't go thinking you'll meet your future OH just go for fun.

Well I survived the speed dating experience and half loved half hated it! The host wasn't 'all that' if I'm honest, and apparently there weren't enough men so some had been drafted in on a freebie from previous events - I dont have a problem with that as long as they are genuinely from other events (it was the guys who told us this - the host would have us all believe it was 'sold out')!!
Met a great girl there, so made a new friend if nothing else. Still awaiting the results though the host is being VERY slow to put them out....
Some people had definitely lied about their ages to meet the upper limit for the event too, but all in all, definitely preferred it over online dating!
Some of the guys were an immediate NO so those 4 minutes slots were quite painful but there were some nice ones too (phew) so that was good. Most people stayed behind to mingle but it was funny talking to them not knowing if you were are YES or NO LOL!!!Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!0
