So a friend has convinced me to try this and I want to try and make it a bit more interesting than 'what's your name, what do you do'.
Any ideas for good questions???? I do have a few deal breakers - should I just ask them up front??
Apparently if you don't find anyone you like they let you go to the next one for free but I'm trying to do loads of new things in my life this year! :T

I think it would depend on what interests you. I love travel and people who are curious about the world so would possibly ask someone what their ideal travel experience would be. I wouldn't ask any sort of trick questions or ones that make it look like you are playing a game. A friend of mine was once asked what cake she would like to be at one of these events. She thought it sounded like one of those cheesy questions they used to ask on Blind Date.0

No idea, I've never been, but just wanted to say that my ex met his now wife at speed dating so obviously it does work sometimes

I think I'd ask what they'd like to do on a perfect date, then perhaps what their favourite Sunday roast is.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I would probably ask them if they believed in God or wanted marriage one day as both would be deal breakers for me if they did although they are rather heavy questions and would make most folk run a mile."'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Wow thanks for this, I dont feel such a crazy person now! It's nice that you are so happy for him too.
I want to strike a happy balance between having a fun night out and yet weeding out the players/non-suitables.

I'd want to find out as much as I could, not things that would make just anyone comparable with me ie whats your favourite restaurant, as just because it doesn't match mine wouldn't mean he was ruled out, or if it did match mine it wouldn't mean we were ideally suited.
For me things like if you woke up one morning to a glorious day, withno plans what would you do, if you were packing a picnic and limited on space would you take wine or sandwiches, how long does it take you to shop for a pair of jeans, do you want children
Ha ha I can imagine the looks I'd get....Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....0 -
How long do you have ? It's only a few minutes isn't it.
I don't see how you could ask any really heavy questions, the type that are most imortant as to whether you'd like a long term relationship with the person. It would be more like the 'hairdresser' type of things.
I doubt many of these speed dates lead to anything, you've only got the time to go on looks.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

I'd have to ask them what book they are reading - but then, that's only because I'm a total bookworm! Not sure I could be with someone who NEVER reads! X0

Next year I'm marrying a guy I met at speed dating:). His questions were very novel , what I can only describe as 'multiple choice'
. For example, I was asked 'Benidorm or Barbados?', 'Rock or Classical'. 'Soaps or Documentaries'......that kind of thing. It was quite clever really - he learnt a lot about me in just a couple of mins
Good Luck and I hope you meet someone really nice.0 -
Wow congratulations on your wedding!!!!
Some great suggestions for questions here! It's 4 minutes per person, so yes, a bit quick, but Im told by a friend who went before that it seemed like a Looooong time with some of the men she met....hope none of them think that about me.
Do you think it's ok to have a list ??Less stuff, more life, love, laughter and cats!
