    Hi All

So a bit of an update.

I made £23.69 on ebay so I will post all that out this week
I sold my CD collection for £16.05
I've not had a messages from Gumtree with regard to the wii so I will look at other options, and I have a Karen Millen dress to put on ebay that I found in the loft :-)

I'm also feeling pleased with myself as I really fancied pasta today but the sauces I make never come out the same so I copied an ingredient list on a jar today and it was delish!

Right…. Your gonna be cross with me BUT there is logic (I promise!)

here i am a month on and I have the same issue I'm short and to make it worse my bank messed up DD transfers so I'm trying to negotiate missed payment charges..

I've made a decision - it wasn't easy and I know its not best thing to do but there is logic for my money flow and my mental well being - I've consolidated.....

    My reasons:

    1) I have 4 defaults from when I lost my job 6 years ago about to roll off my credit file.. one of which isn’t settled yet and I have no way of clearing before Nov when they will re-default me
    2) My fixed mortgage is up next april, I got the last deal with the defaults so I hope that having them gone and 8 months clean before my re-mortgage will give me a better rate.
    3) Having all these bills is stressing me out, One lender not 5 I know many of you are paying off more creditors than me but I just need to simplify for my own sanity
    4) The creditor will pay my debts off directly and I will keep 1 card for emergencies with a £250 limit
    5) I can make over payments and this releases up £400 a month to make over payments

I feel bad and I know its not the best solution cost wise in the long term but.... my debt was almost 4 times what it is today when I started out 6 years ago, so I have come far, I just feel that yes I’m taking a short term solution, but I’m on my own, I’ve had 6 years of struggle to get where I am and enough is enough, I don’t want another six years not being able to get credit and robbing peter to pay paul I just need to get myself organised to not fall into this again and focus on paying off the one loan as quick as possible

You shouldn't feel the need to apologise for your decision to consolidate. You have to do what works for you.

I found your diary just today and hadn't realised until the last post how much debt you have already cleared. I'm sure with you experience you will not fall into the traps that catch many.

It took me 6 years to pay off my debt, which was much smaller than many other people's debt. It was 6 long years and I felt a bit ashamed when I saw that some people pay off a lot more in that time but: I did it, and I did it a way that suited me. That is what you must remind yourself: you are doing it in a way that suits you.
