Really, it will get better.
As for the gym membership, have you considered sending them an email to see if they will help? Even if they can cut the the length of the contract or reduce the monthly fee. It might be worth a shot, particularly if your gym isn't a huge chain or something.0 -
Thanks gang x
The gym wont help, they will only suspend the account if I have a medical reason.. :-/
The buildings insurance isn’t arranged by me its done by the freeholder so I’ve sent back a load of questions as they have increased the cover by £105k this year!
I rung Eon – they want £50 to change my meter to go to a tarrif that is offered by all suppliers… and EDF were absolutely useless when I called so not sure I want to move to them on a like for like :-/ so I’m going to start monitoring my usage see if I can lower it I switched everything off but the fridge this morning it was quite a good feeling!
Sky I have months on yet but I did see a post on here to say that’s about to go up… grrr
Food is going to be my next scrooge target. Apparently I have £10.50 in tesco clubcard point but they aren’t coming to me til Aug.. I have got 25p off milk though so I might use that.
UP’ING THE INCOME
So disaster… tried to log in to ebay last night only to find I have to change the password and I can’t because my email is no longer the same.. frustrated with myself for not doing my admin either! But hey that was Emily yesterday… new day.. so I rung up and they sorted it all for me so everything is queued up to be posted on there tonight. I actually had more stuff that I think I can sell than I thought J I’ve put it all on for 0.99p in the hope of attracting more buyers.
I’ve contacted someone who use to have a bit of waitressing work every now and then and they might have something for me next weekend, but it’s paid til a month later… might take it anyway as worse case I can tell bills that I need a bit longer to pay and know I will have the money coming - should be about £100 for the two nights so that should be ok. I also emailed a lady about an ad on Gumtree about a leaflet job but haven’t heard back yet.
I had a think on the train last night of things I can do in the interim to lower my outgoings and this is what I came up with:
· I’ve got about £12 (entry at 0.99p) stuff on ebay that hopefully will only go up
· Walk to the station every day rather than get the bus – Saves £24 til pay day and hopefully my knee will not play up
· Charge my phone at work which is fine with the boss J and make doubly sure I’m switching EVERYTHING off at home, no help now but will be next month
· I’ve been asked to make a birthday cake for a 50th by a bloke at work so I will ask for the cash to order the stuff I need and then I will have the £10 he was going to pay me on top to put in the bank
· I’m going to have a bag rummage tonight for change.. I found enough to buy a loaf of bread today in the bottom of my bag so that will go towards the store cupboard challenge
· I withdrew some money I had sat in Pay Pal (£2)
Total “found” so far: £49
FOOD
I’ve gone through my cupboards and I have plenty menus for the next two weeks is def sorted porridge and crumpets for breakfast, Although I got my free O2 Coffee today in Nero’s and didn’t fancy breakfast after which was a result!
I’ve got 6 chicken breasts 6 tins of chopped tomato’s, a Maggie bag and half a bag of pasta, - so grilled chicken and something, chicken pasta, chicken bag meal
a chili sauce, 2 packets of rice and some quorn mince so that’s at least 4 meals
I’ve got a bag of potatoes and sweet potatoes and a tin of beans – so that’s a couple of lunches, I’m going to make up some mash as I also have a lonely Quorn Sausage in the freezer LOL
I bought bread as I thought maybe chicken sandwiches and although its hot I have stock and some frozen veg – I might see if I can make a soup with a bit of pasta in it and I’m going to get some long life milk
I made up all the jelly I had in little pots last night for snacks.
I’ve cancelled everything apart from a mate coming over Saturday night and I took a top back that I bought that I was able to re-attach the tag to (it was a safety pin one) so I’ve got a breather until the 25th when my mobile bill is due (£32.12) then I have another breather for the rest of the bills to come out a week later.. (£200 odd eek) so I have £328.67 to find.. so I need to get on magpie too!
Oh an nearly forgot got the ok to become a firstaider at work which means I get a £500 bonus in December :-):j:jDebt:

Hi Emily (great name by the way)
I would try to sell your Wii on Gumtree if I were you. Things like that tend to sell well and you should get much more than £20. Plus it's cash in hand.

Just wanted to say I'm impressed by how quickly you've started to come up with ideas to try to turn things round.
re the games, do you have a cex exchange type store near you? I've no idea what they offer, I was just thinking it might be quicker and cheaper than posting things. That or a local Facebook page if you can get an idea off eBay what they'd usually go for.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Re the gym membership - you can't be locked in forever - what is their cancellation policy? they must have one!!0

Morning All,
Thank you so much for all your support, it’s really helped get me focused rather than just hide. I'm feeling a little better about things but still annoyed with myself!
I’m going to look at CEX today I hadn’t heard of that so that’s the plan for lunch time and also Gumtree and I haven’t heard re: the waitressing or the leaflets so I will chase again today if I get a chance
Found £4.97 (!) in the great bag hunt and 7p under the sofa
I had a pretty good weekend all things considered, Saturday I was invited to a BBQ so I dug out a bottle of wine from the cupboard and made up a tuna mayo salad to take with me and we sat in the garden all afternoon and they pretty much fed me J yesterday I had a massive clean up and found a few extra bits to put on Ebay so I will do that tonight, I have £1.98 of bids today (hope that changes! Its early days) I’ve spoken to all my creditors and explained that I might be paying a little late this month, I guessed it would be better to be straight up plus an arrangement to pay flag on my credit file might be better than if they default me or something.
Amount "found" so far £56.02 (not including the games and CDs):j:jDebt:
