Grey and drizzly here today
Went to Aldi this morning and only spent £29 on food, but DH spent another £35 on a new lawn mowerOur old one has had it so it needed to be done, plus you get three years guarantee with Aldi stuff so that is why we get electrical goods there.
Just sent DS down to get his hair cut, it is driving me mad, he wants it long but can't be bothered to keep it brushed  So DD's BF has gone with him to give him a nudge in the right direction
nmlc congratulations to your DS
Get well wishes to all the poorlies Molly, Hilly and Hester's MIL.

Afternoon all,
It's been a very hot sunny morning here and now it's dull and raining!
Got two lots of washing dry though and cleaned the house this morning thinking I could sit in the garden this afternoon...
Congrats to NMLC's son, Judi's son and Happy Birthday to TTFTM's daughter (think I got those right).
I expect the fellas here will be watching football tonight (makes a change). DH hangs the England flag out when they are playing, I do wish I had the oppositions team flag to hang there instead just so I could watch their faces when they realised!
I'm going to make a pizza tart for dinner tonight, not done one before. DH bought puff pastry as Aldi didn't have any pizza bases. Not quite the same thing in my book but oh well.
Have a good evening.0 -
Just had to share some good news with you. For those that can't remember me, found out my eldest DS had bone cancer at Christmas. Devastating news especially since he has seemed to blank me for a few years. ( long story) he's been having Chemo last 4/5 months and some sort of injections for his bones. Well he had some more scans and the doctors are so pleased with how he's doing he has 3 weeks respite before he has radiotherapy.
I am so pleased. I know he isn't out of the woods and apparently it can return but at this stage he's making good progress.
Not only that he rang me FIRST. I was so thrilled. I just sat and cried afterwards. The worry and stress I suppose.
It made the news all the better as he told me on what would have been my youngest DS birthday. He died 9 years ago. I hope you don't mind me sharing the good news with you. I don't write often enough but I read the threads daily.
I've always seemed to be down when I've written so I thought some good news wouldn't come amiss. Thanks everyone. X0 -
fiftyeighter, I'm so pleased that you had good news about your DS and that you seem to be becoming closer to him.
This afternoon has been a washout with a migraine, I have slept most of it away.0 -
fiftyeighter yes I do remember you I'm so very pleased for your son and for you. I hope he continues to make good progress.
Thinking of the people amongst us who are not so good too. Molly, Hilstep, Hesters MIL, redruby and LW.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I am so glad for you, both for the good news on your son's health and the fact that you are more close now.
Quiet day. Managed to get a family pack from local butcher and also some egg boxes so I can label each day's eggs and know which is which,
DH had the great idea a few weeks ago of letting the chickens have the run of the back gardenI managed to keep quiet about the pitfalls of this and today he has started to construct a bigger chicken run and get them back under control as they have eaten every single veg and fruit he has planted.
The only thing that survived are radishes. Anyone have any good idea what to do with radishes? No unseemliness please!
Hugs to all especially Hillstep, Molly. LameWolf and Cornishchick."This site is addictive!"

Fiftyeighter...glad to hear your good news.
Really nice here today, was overcast this morning but has brightened up and the sun is shining.
Have been trying to find out how long I will have to wait for hip transplant, doc says that I have no option but to have it done asap, wouldnt even be able to borrow the money it would cost privately, unless doc plans on waving some type of magic wand!
Hugs and positive vibes to all, stay safe and well

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts.
You must think me very selfish and rude not mentioning other people on here who are poorly and going through hard times. I didn't meen to come across as uncaring. Although I havnt met any of you, you have always been so supportive and I truly think of you and your pain and am happy when you have good times. You make me smile too with your wit.
I don't always contribute, I no but please believe me I read and think of you all.
Thank you once again for your kind words.0
