Ha yes I melted a sump washer on a BMW trying to anneal it. You could always fit a suitable sized copper one in its place; then it will be re-useable. I also anneal the new copper ones to soften them up and be sure of a good seal.0

Not car related but definitely oil change related; please be aware (should you need to know) that Kawasaki KLE500, Gpz500 and ER500 oil sumps are made of cheese.
This despite tightening to the correct torque0
