connecting in lgw

I am looking at booking a holiday to Canada in september. There is a cheap air transat flight back to gatwick but it only gives us 1 hour 10 minutes to connect to an easyjet flight to aberdeen, is this enough as we will obviously have more than hand luggage?

Chances of making that connection are pretty close to zero.

No its not. You will have to go through passport checks, then collect your bags (reports suggest LGW is one of the slowest in the country) and then through customs and then get around to Easyjet check in. Air Transat use the south terminal, easyjet use the north for Aberdeen and remember minimum check in for easyjet luggage is at least 30 minutes before departure, possibly more I haven't checked. I would say your chances of connection would be nil, sorry

I agree, it's not enough time, not sure if http://www.gatwickairport.com/at-the-airport/Flight-Connections/gatwick-connect/ includes air transat.

Thanks, air transat manchester flight gives us 3.5 hours to connect in airport at not much more cost, seems a better idea.

Agree. No chance. You'd be lucky to get through immigration and get your bags within an hour, never mind having to check in and go through security again.

Transat punctuality is suspect as well.

In 2013 Air Transat were the most punctual airline on London - Toronto beating Air Canada and BA. On London - Calgary they were second behind Air Canada, but beat BA. And on London - Vancouver they were second, beaten by Virgin but again beating Air Canada and BA.
