Cat going in neighbours house!

I've just taken my dog for a walk, and as I passed a house a few doors down my cat came out of their front door. I stopped to chat to the lady who was very nice, she said he is very affectionate and visits a lot. I know he loves cuddles, he sits on the drive wanting every passer by to cuddle him.
She told me she knew he was not to be fed as it says on his collar, and he does come home for food and sleep but I've noticed he's out a lot more recently.
He's so well looked after, I insure him, flea him and keep up to date with his jabs, buy him nice collars beds and treats!
I feel a bit sad but I want my cat to be happy. I'm not wanting a solution, I just feel he's cheating on me if that makes sense!

Ah bless. Cats being so independent have a notorious rep as tarts, they can put themselves about a bit. [Not sure if you saw that documentary on the life of cats?]
Think of it this way he's going someone where he is welcome and providing company for someone who presumably appreciates it. Cat knows where its home is and it's with you.

I did see the program! I hope he knows how loved he is at home. He's gone back out now! He always has been independent and been out a lot. I was worried when we got the dog he would move out but he didn't, he just keeps his distance from him.
I love my animals

Cheeky little blighters aren't they.
My lad likes to go over the road, they've got 4 girl cats and I think he likes the company.
He always returns home though, even if it's only for his tea.Kate short for Bob.

All my cats have had second homes.
One male cat I had used to spend all day (I worked fulltime) at a old couple's bungalow just up the road.
After breakfast, he'd go out of the cat flap and sit on their wall waiting for them to get up and let him in.
I met the old guy in the street once and he told me that they had great pleasure from him sitting on the arm of the chair next to his wife (who was quite ill).
So they had the best of both worlds - a cat companion without the emotional or financial worry of pet ownership.
When he died from kidney failure at the age of 13, they were (almost) as distraught as I was.

A friend of mine had a cat that would spend most of the day in a school with the children, the evening in a residential home with the OAPs and would then come home for a feed and a snooze!
I do think that it what people either love (or hate) about cats - the ability they have to do what they want, when they want. Stuff everyone else:rotfl:0 -
Maybe your cat senses this lady is in need of some attention especially if she lives alone rather than that he is cheating on you.0

My Teddy visits one lot of neighbours and crashes on their bed/in the sink or watches the hamster.. just sits and stares at the hamster making them all laugh like mad
He also made friends with new people who moved in the block not long ago and goes to visit there too.
Everyone on my estate knows Teddy - he is a total s....t
Love him xxxx
Got 4 cats that are MINE but Teddy - well, Teddy is Teddy, gypsy nature BUT always, ALWAYS sleeps with me. My boy

I have 2 cats, one barely leaves the house (if she does it's a quite pootle around the garden, and only in good weather) the other has 2 other houses that she visits, I know this for a fact as her next-door-but-one 'family' has told me
it's funny as we could set our clocks to her schedule.
Next door but one set up a lovely comfy bed in their greenhouse for her and she goes into their house mid morning for biscuits and cuddles! They are an older (but very mobile) couple and they actually have a cat of their own. I don't mind, I think our cat likes to escape a noisy pre-schooler
she nearly always comes in at night and I don't like her being out overnight. If she does stay out all night she does spend the majority of the following day asleep in said pre-schooler's bedroom or on her blanket on the landing. She is a beautiful affectionate tabby so I'm not surprised she's wangled her way into a couple of other homes
my previous 2 cats (who lived to 18 and 16 yrs old) were homebodies who only ventured into the garden so I've never been in this situation before
