Lloyds and TSB charges.

Hi all.

I am about to appeal over double charges, but would like some advice first.

First of all I KNOW it is my fault we are over drawn, but kids need food & shoes etc & Hubby NEEDS the car to work.

We have had an account with LLoyds TSB for forever. It started off as TSB, then they merged.

Both myself and my husband got loans from them, only a few months after the split, we realised that although my loan stayed with our currant account, now Lloyds, my husbands loan was transfered to a new TSB account.

( My loan was done on line, my husband went into the local branch of Lloyds TSB to set his up & that branch is now TSB).

Surely they should have kept all our loans & accounts with either 1 bank or the other.

So now due to multiple bank charges we defaulted on my husbands loan repayment. So Lloyds are charging us unpaid DD fees AND TSB are also charging us for a missed payment. How should i address this.

Also I am appealling for bank charges to be returned from Lloyds. Month after month they take out the bank charges, setting us over drawn over the OD limit, then charge us unpaid OD fees, then also add unpaid DD fees as other DD can not be paid.

This is a real worry for us. My Father in law passed away this week end & right now we can not even afford to get to his funeral, never mind flowers.

I have just landed my self a job @ £600 pm but I don't start for about a month.

We have been using Wonga for the last 2-3 days of the month just to buy packed lunch stuff etc.

Advice & kindness appreciated,
Jojo

I don't know what advice you need. If you can show the Bank that you are currently in financial hardship then they are obliged to deal with your appeal fairly and compassionately. Only the Bank can tell you what charges (if any) they decide to refund, because it is entirely at their own discretion.

You can read more about the actual process involved here:

    For advice and support you'd be better off posting a full Statement Of Affairs over at the "Debt-Free Wannabe" sub forum of this board;

  • Thank you so much for your speedy reply Moneyineptitude.

I am working on the letters, very much to LLoyds.

I will pop over to the "Debt-free" forum as I feel the TSB may be a little more tricky.

    Thanks again,

    Jojo

Whatever you do, do not mention unfair or words similar to that. Banks auto reject unfair bank charge refund requests. Focus on the hardship.
