EE - ‘Calls are not currently being connected to this number’

Hi. I keep trying to call a number and getting the message '‘Calls are not currently being connected to this number" , a few days later I am now getting the EE message "The person you are calling is not currently available, please leave a message".

Is it possible that the person has lost/blacklisted/blocked there phone and since ordered a new SIM etc?

Just looking for what possibilities there are for the first message and then a week later the second message.

Could be what you say or maybe they're abroad?

Have you tried dialling the actual number rather than calling from your phone book? Happened to me once and it was a problem with my phone and only the number in question. Master reset sorted it.

If the number is blocked, you wouldn't be given an option to leave a message.

If the sim is reported lost, the replacement sim has the same number.

Last week when I called the number (from my phonebook and manually) i got the message:

"Calls are not currently being connected to this number"

Followed by a beep and then hanging up.

A week later it seems the number is connected again...

What I'm really asking is what that message followed by the dial tone beep could mean originally?

Could the person have inadvertently blocked you?

No, they had no reason too. Is it possible that they could of lost there phone, had it blacklisted and has since the SIM has been reactivated/a new one sent?

The person had been at a festival the weekend before, could just be a coincidence

That's why I said inadvertently. And it does sound like when someone blocks you.

If it was at a festival then it could have been not switched on or network congestion/issues.

The reason I know why is because the same week I had switched to a different mobile number and had tried off both and got the same message. I appreciate your responses. I guess it's a tough one. I am just unsure if it is the message a person would receive if they called a blacklisted phone.
