Hello, not sure if this is the best place in the forum... any techie here know of a good inexpensive hosting package? Looking for the cheapest around as at the moment I am very strapped for cash for my business. Hostgator is a bit too expensive at $10 a month
My site won't be big, just a few pages, no forum or interactive comments, so I don't need a massive contract
Thank you

Checkout the site terms before choosing a free one. Some are OK others are terrible.
I use 50 webs now. About £40 a year to host 10 websites?
I tried a free one 000 something?? They had to review every update i made to the site. Which was a total nightmare as you spot something wrong when uploading. It was supposed to be reviewed within 24 hours but sometimes it took several days. Then you spot a typo and need to reupload it.
I went for a paid service right away.

@forgotmyname, do you mean 50webs.com? is that what you recommend then?
@hop3, as far as I know, it’s Wordpress.org the plugin that you download to do your own site? I always thought you can’t have your own site with Wordpress.com, you can only have “mybusinessname.wordpress.com”, like a blog, which is not what I want for my business. Does Wordpress.com also host sites ?
I’d like to use Wordpress actually as I know it has lots of SEO tools, but I don’t want my site to have the address of a blog0 -
I use 50webs. The only issue i had was that an old website of mine wouldnt work.
Turned out i had it linked to an old free 50webs account. They transferred it for me without fuss.
Other than that my sites are fairly basic so hassle free. There maybe cheaper options though. I shouldnt admit this but it auto renews and i dont take any notice.. shhh dont tell anyone.
Just beware any free hosting sites that review your site before it can go live.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

You can either:- Use Wordpress.com and use their domain tool (you can buy a domain in their store that will look like yourwebsite.com
- Use Wordpress.org and upload wordpress into your hosting for your existing domain and run the site like that
I use WordPress for my existing site and its amazing for SEO. Drop me a PM if you want some help or want to see how my site runs
