    Definitely check out www.fertilityfriends.co.uk if you haven't already, and also www.soulcysters.com .

    It took us 5 years to have DS1 (both our children were conceived by IVF in the end), and I don't know how I would have coped without access to on-line support and information. I actually found the 6 months that I was on Clomid the worst - be prepared for the possibility of some serious moodswings towards the end of the cycle.

    I did ask about Metformin when I was diagnosed with mild PCOS, having read about it on US web sites, but was told that it was still "experimental". I'm glad to hear that they're using it for PCOS in th UK now! I've known a number of women on-line who got pregnant using Metformin alone. I think you continue taking it while on Clomid, but I'm sure you can get a better answer at either of the websites above.

    Good luck, and know that you're definitely not alone in this. Do try to find a message board that deals specifically with trying to conceive - the support you get from others going through the same thing really is invaluable.

    hi i have been diagnosed with pcos this week! have been put on metformin for 4 months and having a check up after that.
    today i am experiencing bloated belly (not taken the tablets yet) im hoping it could be a pregnancy but not done a test yet.

    Hi all

    All i can say is a big thank you to you all (and i have thanked you all individually), you kind words are so touching, a few tears in my eyes reading these...
    I will continue to use the Metformin as it does definatley help with the weight loss, they have not said exactley how much i need to lose (have lost approx a stone since last Sept), i would not say i am really big (16/18) but really tall at 5 10" so very decieving.
    I to can weigh maybe 5lbs difference each day up and down all the time...
    At the smile on hubby's face all the time stage at the moment...so will let you know how i get on....
