Let Down

For the second time I have been turned down for PPI claimback, this after reading various messages on here about doing it all yourself, yet all my friends family and work colleagues went through the PPI claim companies and WON! yes at a cost of paying them.
Who has actually been successful doing it themselves and not some made up person to make these forums more believable, sounds all to good to be true reading some of the posted comments of so called real peoples stories?? They probably all work for the banks and are paid a bonus for making people believe that by doing it themselves would be better, waste of time going through FOS, takes ages and comes back with the same conclusion, :T

Literally millions of people have been successful.

    Why were your complaints rejected?

I'm looking foward to my bonus for posting, I work for a 'nasty tax payer owned bank' so cheers for that!

You're not claiming anything back, your complaining that there was something wrong with the sale.
Obviously, you had a need for it, or are trying with a company not covered by the rulings.

Not everyne is entitled to money back. You seem to be one of those.

PPI companies have no special powers. The friends you have who 'won' could have done exactly the same themselves.

And yes, I did it myself, with loans and credit cards.

Thanks for your time in replying, and congratulations on your win, but I need a lot more convincing that doing it yourself actually works, I don't need the money I just don't want to feel as though I've been ripped off by these banks etc.
I'm a strong believer in that like taxes, why should a man who earns £25,000 a year get the same increase say 2% as a man who earns £100,000 why not say they both get an increase of £1000 as by working on percentages means the man who earns the most gets a bigger increase £2,000 as against £500 for the lesser earning man.
My point is that these large companies and government's are run by money men and the gap of the rich and poor is getting bigger, and it's not fair, reading between the lines on the forum site some people are desperate for the money and therefore should get HONEST advice not misleading information.

Actually, your original point is that you didn't get any money, and all your friends and family did.
There's plenty of honest advice here.

Read the PPI successes and failures thread if you need convincing, although actually, we don't need to convince you, you have already made up your mind.

It appears that the general misconception on here from people asking for help is 'I paid for PPI, so I am entitled to a refund'. As has been explained multiple times by multiple members, there has to be a valid reason, and even then not that valid it seems, to still get a payout.

People get refunded all the time without using CMC companies. I see this every day in work. I cannot identify if any claimants are on here, and this site probably only represents a small proportion of claimants, but believe me it happens.

My sister has won 3 claims to the tune of around £6000 from 3 different companies and she did it all by herself, with no help from me.

The FOS published some stats recently. Among them it showed that over 2/3rds of PPi complaints are generated by claims companies. However, individual complaints (not using a claims company) have a higher success rate than those put in via a CMC.

most claims companies do no work other than put a stamp on the envelope containing the FOS form or their version of it.

The only "convincing" you should need is to realise that Claims Management Companies use the same free-to-use complaints process and charge around a third of the redress in commission (plus VAT).

and the "honest" advice is that the only people who receive redress employ a CMC? I don't think so.

I successfully complained and got £20,000 redress.
    I didn't employ a CLaims Management Company.
I do not work for a bank or any financial institution.

To be "honest", your posts make it sound rather as if YOU work for a CMC!

Way off the mark comment, I'd NEVER work for any organisation like that, what all you people that have commented on my earlier comments are failing to pick up on is that some people haven't the spare time or confidence like you guy's have and were I take my hat off to you for getting off your backsides and doing something about it, why did you complain in the first instance if you didn't see an opportunity to get some instant cash back, you make out that some people are claiming for the sake off it, well may be so but you did as well.
My comments are that although there is a lot of good advice on this website, I am still not convinced that all comments on here are ligit and therefore people can easily be misled, just look how many millions MR L has made off people like writing comments on here, sums up my first comments of the day.
