No I'm not guessing. I saw the post at 2.00am this morning and as it was clearly spam pressed the spam button. I wasn't aware that there is a time limit for posting on MSE, perhaps you can point me in the right direction as to where I can find that info.

Thanks for clearing up the spam post question. As for the time limit, there is none but common sense would say that responding to a post from 2 years ago is pointless, especially when the answer is wrong (it refers to the provisions of the CRA which didn't come into force until over a year after the purchase was made).

Of course, if MSE had gone along with the suggestion I made some years ago of putting the date that the thread was started in the thread list (as some other forums do) then it would be more evident that it's old and could be out of date, but they didn't.

Or do as some other forums do and automatically lock threads which haven't had any postings in for over a certain number of months.

As the shop in question, the quality of the bags do seem a bit on the rubbish side.
  • Yep, a spammer came on here and heavily praised the shop, could not leave it at that. Have to admit did not look at the date on the first post.

You're not the first, and certainly won't be the last. I've almost been caught out by it myself, hence my suggestion for a way to reduce the likelihood of it happening.

That's exactly what happens on this forum as well.
Threads that haven't had any replies for 2 years get locked automatically but IMO, 2 years is far too long.
