It's with great pleasure that I can tell you that Martin Lewis has tonight been awarded an OBE in the Queen's birthday honours list.

I am just one person who will never cease to thank the day I heard the tail-end of your 'Say No to 0870' polemic on Woman's Hour with Jenni Murray, back in 2005, during a torrid and relentless passage of nightmare years following x's suicide, with justified fear for my life.
On that day, I was in tears on the phone, while a vicious woman from British Gas was mimicking my despair and desperation for the pleasure of other staff: the call had been put on speaker for all to enjoy and laughter echoed loudly.
That was the day I started to find a way beyond 'living' on £44 per week.
Hearing that voice, that day, tracking down Say No to 0870 as you exhorted everyone to do, Martin, transformed my life and still does, with every week's bulletin.

Well deserved Martin... Enjoy the Pomp and Circumstance!! My late mum was awarded the MBE for her WRVS work in charge of vests and underpants!!!, should a crisis occur. She/we so enjoyed the investiture (sp?)
I have been a follower of your's for many years and truly believe you deserve this honour.
