EDF tariffs - Blue+Price Promise

Not strictly relevant to the OP ....but yesterday I received a letter from EDF (who I left 29th April switching to OVO) because I have now cancelled the DD authority with the bank, threatening the loss of DD discounts on future bills!
Final bill was settled 2 weeks ago and I've had the "sorry you are leaving us" communications nearly 2 months ago!! Obviously parts of EDF don't operate in real time!:rotfl:0 -

Yes I got that as well and others have had the equivalent email. When mine came I had already started being supplied by EE and was £80+ in credit.0 -

Exactly the same with me. Spoke to EDF about cancelling my DD as I was owed money etc - and they agreed that it was the sensible thing to do. On my Final Bill they made the claim that my personal gas projection for the coming year was £889.34 and that I could save £417.44 by switching to Blue+Price Promise August 2015. I queried this and I got a response demonstrating that the £889 figure was indeed correct. Two escalations later, EDF has now admitted that the calculation was wrong due to a 'one-off' IT problem. This didn't explain how a person could e-mail me an incorrect breakdown which he tried to defend as being correct. Had he bothered to check my spend for last year, he would have realised that a £63 per month DD for gas and electricity is something of a big clue. Reading this site suggests that the problem is more than a 'one-off'. They say that they are upgrading their IT software. Best of luck to all when that happens. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
