We are taking our 2 grandchildren to london sightseeing in august. Premier inn towerbridge is coming up at £286 for 3 nights for the 4 of us in a family room. This seems reasonable to me. Breakfast is £10 extra per day per adult children free. Is that worth buying? I tlhink it sounds ok. Are there any special offers for touristy places i could get. I dont have a lot of tesco vouchers so wont be able to use them

That is not a bad rate for central London as your dates 28-31 August include a saturday night stay which will always bump the overall stay rate up.

Your teenage grandchildren will probably like London Dungeons. I personally think it is overpriced for what it is, teens tend to think it is really cool. My teens and friends love hiring Boris bikes and cycling around Hyde Park at that time of year. M&M world in Leicester Square is usually a hit (they take lots of photos by the large M&M models) and Camden market on a Sunday. Covent Garden with the entertainers is something they also like.

The breakfast at the Premier Inn we stayed at recently was excellent. We had 2 teenage girls with us and ate at Planet Hollywood on the Sunday night. I used my Gourmet Society card and had 25% off my bill. There are often free trial offers around for Gourmet Society and Tastecard.
  • Definately go for the breakfast at the Premier Inn really good value.

Also try Hidden City Bright Lights Evening Trail. Its a bit like a quiz and a tour all in one. You pay £20 for a team (unlimited numbers in a team) They send you clues via text to your mobile and it take you around sights that you probably wouldn't normally see. My kids were 15 and 14 when we did it last year and we had a fantastic time. Took us just over 2 hours as we didn't take any breaks. The one we did started off at the South Bank and ended up near Covent Garden. Well worth the money and would definately do another. Natural History, Science, and Museum of London are all good and free. Teenager might like Camden Market or Spitalfields which has some great food.

Myself, hubby and our two teenage girls have been to see the Let it Be show and it was ok, but it is just like a mock concert type event, rather than a West End full production type show. Kids week is on the theatre for the dates until 31/8 and kids go free with each paying adults so might be worth checking this deal out. Bookings are going quickly though as it started yesterday. They have some good shows on such as Wicked, Charlie and the Chocolate factory that my teens loved.

It should be odd days that the changing of the guard is on in August, but this has yet to be confirmed.

A better place to get up close photos actually beside the horse mounted guards is at Whitehall.

Op, if you havent booked Tower Bridge Premier Inn yet there are better situated hotels for a similar price for your dates now than before for e.g. Westminster Bridge Premier Inn hotel is a few minutes walk from Waterloo tube or rail station and the London Eye, Big Ben, Houses Of Parliament, River boats to the Tower Of London etc are nearby and is £158 for the two nights you want in total. £118 in total for the PI at Old Street which is beside the tube station of the same name (5 min of a direct tube journey from Euston to Old Street via Northern line).
