price change

I booked a Travelodge for one night, by following the link on their website "find our lowest prices". The rate was payable in advance and non-refundable. They now advertise similar rooms at the same Travelodge for the same night cheaper than I have paid. I've asked for an explanation, and a refund of the difference, but they have sent me two holding replies. Am I being unreasonable?

Yes, you are being unreasonable. You were happy with what you paid at the time.

Prices change all the time, if the price had increased would you have been happy to pay the extra?

I also believe that you are being unreasonable.

If the price had gone up you wouldn't have complained, and would not want to pay the difference.

I can understand that you are disappointed that the price is now lower than you paid, but prices can go up and down. If they had gone up due to demand then they would not have charged you more. You also usually have the option to book a room that you could cancel rather than take the saver rate that offers no refunds if cancelled.
  • Yep you're been unreasonable.

As someone pointed out, would you have happily paid extra if the price had gone up after you booked it?

It's just the game, and you got to play it and don't throw a strop when it doesn't go your way.
