Hi pippi,
I hope you're feeling better soon x I thought I'd ask about freezing of cheese on here as there is often lots of lovely talk about thisI got some very whoopsied goats cheese & 1 Camembert. What's the best way to freeze them / can they be frozen? And is it best to just use to cook with afterwards? Thanks in advance x

hiya - in absence of darling pippi.... cheese can be frozen, even goats and camembert... you dont need to just cook with them after, hard cheeses - that you may read you need to grate before freezing tend to crumble a wee bit - i am lazy and freeze them whole and then just crumble into dishes... (saves having to wash up the grater!!)
as for camenbert - you can always bake it and then serve it with some crackers or crusty bread
another idea for the odds and ends of cheese you may have in the fridge... grate them, and then cream together with a wee bit of butter - makes a very yummy cheese spread"Aunty C McB-Wik"
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO, What a Ride!"

Hey chappsies - hello and how are you all.
Well done Aunty Wik for sorting out the cheese question.Love the idea of cheese spread. I normally keep all my odd bits in a bag and make them into a cheese sauce when I've enough, but I might try yours!
Yum Cookies greyingthank you. (cauli - 1lb 2 oz)
Beanie thank you too. 49p for brocollii and the others is good! Will look out next time I'm out.
Not totally caught up yet. XHAUSTED - two cities, two kids (seen seperately) two hours skiing. DS bought us tea out.
Long day. But so grateful to be able to do a trip like that without ferries and days and days away from home.
So lucky and so very grateful.
See you in the am chaps thanks for posting! I'll promise to catch up tomorrow which will def be a NDD.

Before I forget £24.98 Petrol spend.
Aside that yesterday, no spends. TRG treated me to skiing (indoor) and DS treated me to tea. DD made me a cuppa.
All in all aside the 215 miles driven, family time had, a NSD (aside the petrol).
Lol.
Happy Friday folks.
Did you all see the linky on Greying's thread for a £5 off £30 printable voucher for Mr L for this weekend sat/sun.
Huge thank you to Liltdiddylilt for the share. Linky here.

Sounds like you had an amazing day yesterday, Pippi, if tiring. How's your lurgy, is it banished, or back in force because of tiredness?
I hadn't quite realised what the Lidl thing was, by the way, so thanks for emphasizing - I've got it ready to print now, there's one in the town next door, and its right by an architectural salvage yard, weirdly, which is always good for a mooch around
Wik's hint on cheese spread! And yours, come to that - love itHave a good, tasty day (warm too!).

Hey KC - I'd no idea until I clicked the linkie.
clever lass combining trips.
Eyes are still sore but I only did half the driving yesterday. Legs not sore yet............
Cheese tips always welcomed. Can't bear to throw away cheese.
So lovely to take a wee food parcel and some bits through to DD she's really enjoying living in the middle of the city (although my driving skills were well challenged yesterday) mind on I do like driving in Edinburgh, I find it easier than Glasgow which is just so fast. Although that's not to say I didn't get spectacularly lost somewhere between Haymarket and the Meadows but we made it to the university halls *eventually*.
I guess its good to keep those skills up.
[Mooomin I waved, did you see me?]
I'm a serial bumpkin driver.
I'm off to attempt to put a belt on a washing machine and polish my 'girl power' badge.
Kettles on.

Post a card to the birthday girl
Post stuff to DD that of course arrived when I was with her yesterday.
Garden stuff - tidying up and more plotting regarding veg patch, plant leeks and now its dried a bit sort **
