I haven't had a chance to fully read things, but are you commuting around Fife or to the Big Toon? If it's to the Toon, add more time than 50 minutes, because if anyone sneezes near that bridge then Fife grinds to a halt. A friend used to commute in while living in Kirkcaldy and was demented by the time she moved over the bridge :D

Personally, I have a commute of about 40 minutes each day (I live and work in town) which I don't mind because I get to read my book if I get the direct bus or Stephen Fry reads me Harry Potter books if I get the short hop bus and walk the rest of the way. A commute where I was driving an hour wouldn't be acceptable to me because of all the thinking to do to avoid crashing in to people ;) I like to be able to switch off after work and even when I was commuting in the car, the half hour drive used to drive me nuts.

I know you'll know what the best thing is to do, good luck regardless ♥

    Bum feathers coming in.

    Braw.

Waves to Mooomin. Thanks for that. Its the other 'toon' further north - jute/jam/etc that the job is in. Only 23 miles but wiggletastic country roads and a bridge but a different one - we're blessed with bridges here eh?

The driving bothers me a bit I must confess, its years since I've driven 'properly' everyday, I find it really tiring. Trains not an option nor is the bus :( but I do like a good story in the car.

TRG likes his commute, I didn't mind mine (with Stephen Fry too :D) - but I can see why folks either leave really early to get over that bridge!

I see the new bridge is half way up - TRG's office looks out over the site.

Slight digression there. :) I'm still pondering the options, but if I'm honest the idea of being out the house for 9 hours a day isn't very appealing.

    Internally lazy me.

Grand to have a few ideas floating about to sort me noggin out so I appreciate the time taken to post by you all.

    :D

I guess my 'holiday'' period settling in must be abaiting as I'm pondering options.

    Lazy lass!

<delurk> sidles in quietly whilst no one is looking and puts clean mug on counter top.
thank you for the coffee, it gave me the boost I needed to finish off DS#1's room and make a start on DS#2's...
Where I found the pairs of pants he should have packed in his adventuring bag. Cue phone call to the centre and a manic 4 hour round trip to the centre to deliver said pants (post is uselesss here and would have meant it arriving on Friday most likely)! He's only had one pair (the ones he had on when we drove up there) since Saturday:eek:!
Luckily HWTHMO had an errand to run at a local pub so I met him there and convinced him that we should eat there too. OK not a NSD but I wasn't going to be in the mood to cook after driving 4 hours in the rain.
Right, better head back to DS#2's room there's a lot of 'mucking out' to be done there. If I'm not back in a while, send a search party... I like cheese sandwiches and black coffee.:D

Fannyadams you crack me up. What are they like!

Good you got tea out there though.

I'll make up a sandwich box just in case..........

    I've plenty cheese in.

    :)

Garden blog update here if anyones got half an hour to kill. Its long and chicken led.

Say no more eh. Chickens are never very concise I find.

I'm off to stomp about the garden and prepare for a trip to the library.

And probably the beach for a stomp. All in the name of ponder and research you understand.

I remember doing a garden for a friend once and it had the matting stuff down... I realised why after about a month.
    Equisetum
    (mares tail/horse tail)
it poked up out of every hole I cut to put the plants in.
the previous owners decided not to treat for it and just covered the whole garden in matting and bark mulch.
I am still treating the garden 3 years on, and my friend still doesn't have the garden she wanted. sigh.

  • Mares tail is a beast. My grannie had a hockey stick she battered it with.

    (In real life)

Its not showing its nose up yet aside in one wee part of a different part fo the garden.

    Fingers crossed.

Coffee's on and the cheese butties are gone which means you've escaped!
    Well done.

So had a quick nip to library and ordered a book a chum has recommended.

Had a quick look in bookshop its there but £25 so I saved my money and walked on.

Not a NSD as i succumbed to a cob for the beach and spent £1 on four so 3 to DS lunch, ones long gone.

Quick nice sunny walk (apologies to those with rain)

    Bit of a think

Home for a cuppa having spent my only £1 in toon.

    :D

  • Well that's the life admin done for now and the guilt abaited. Why is it so much easier to do something than keep putting it off.

I shed my queen procrastinator cape for the moment.

Late lunch methinks and a tea plan to hatch, from the stores obviously.

    Must update spends.

Dogs had a walk earlier but another wee stroll might not hurt.

Off to rummage in cupboards, long time since my dry crusty cob on the beach.

    And then some research.
