    pips - what's a taxi bus?
    cheery - ditto post bus?

Where we live now there are two options...
    ...walk...
    ...drive...
It's a 20 minute walk to the main road (country lane) and then another 20 to the village - probably another 30 to the nearest village...

Here we have this service that the council offer - yours might but its taken me nearly two years to even hear about it.

In rural areas often the post bus is a landrover with extra seats and you can ask to use it like a bus too.

Although I dunno how we had one on Colonsay so you could go anywhere as long as you wanted to blether to the postie on the way.

My chickens and I are in a feud - they want to invade the garden I want to keep them in their own patch. This omlet net thing is pants its biodegrading before my very eyes, I'm holding the gaps together with clothes pegs, it looks like one of those lock/lovers gates now.

Pesky chickens :D :rotfl: :rotfl: (sorry :D )

Our post bus was like a little van with seats in the back - basically the postman driving round the villages collecting from the postboxes but at the same time each day so you could hop in and take a very scenic tour to the next town. Our postie was a bit anti social though so no need to talk but you did have to listen to radio 5 live :rotfl: was dead cheap too, much cheaper than the other bus to the other main town. Kind of miss it! (Kind of)

thanks ladies - who knew that such things existed?! - not this city girl:o

have had a g00gle but looks like the local council thinks a 35 minute walk to the nearest bus stop is doable - with buses only running once an hour and only during the morning and evening rush hours as well - about 6 to 8 a day - lol

then again it's taken my posty since last june to actually say good morning - he must think I'm a mad women waving to him out the window - he's a bit odd - watches his feet - not sure about getting in the truck with him even if it was a thing down here!

I think you folks up north are a bit more advanced on the transportation front than down here!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

found the last of the onions in the garden, and there are a few leeks left. Spinach is picked to stalks by pesky chickens but will be grand I'm sure as its really spinach beet and very hardy.

There are some tatties still in situ - must lift them.

Dug two beds over two to go and then its game on again.

Weeded up the back by the hens - fed them the weeds - got lots of odds and sods from work to put in so might do that
