Parking Eye fine @ Earlsdon Court Primer Inn Coventry

Hi Guys,
I am new to all this and need advise on my parking eye fine of overstaying 15 mins on 30 min free parking @ Earlsdon Court Primer Inn Coventry during Check In.
I was staying at Premier Inn for one night two weeks ago, when I arrived at the hotel I couldn't remember seeing any signs about free parking for 30 mins only, I have to wait at reception for few minutes before any staff arrived, and when the staff did arrive they only let me know that there is a overnight multi-storey paid for car park next door and I have pay first before parking my car there.
They didn't inform me that I only had 30 minutes to check in, move my luggage to the room (quite far away from reception) pay for the parking and move the car before I would have to pay £100 fine (£60 if paid in 14 days).
I had left the car in the car park for 45 minutes from 17:18:03 to 18:03:40 and received a £100 fine 10 days later.
I have complained to Premier Inn but they said it's my responsibility to read all notice board etc and the Staff shouldn't be responsible to let guests know during the booking in process that they are against the clock or will be facing a large parking fine.
My room was quite a distance from reception - so no chance of booking in, dropping the bag, pay for the multi-storey car park (took 20mins on this own by phone as I have to register myself first time with them using the stupid automated machine before been transferred to a human) and get back to move the car within 30 minutes.
I was staying at Premier Inn paid for the overnight stay control by the same company (Parking Eye) and I was still handed a £60/100 fine for over staying 15mins during Check in!!!. What a Rip Off!!!!!:mad::mad:
Do I stand a chance of appealing against this fine, Advise please

a shame you used the f-word so many times (six times) when its not a FINE , its a parking charge notice speculative invoice from PE due to breaking their rules
most of what you have written is irrelevant as you will be appealing on legal arguments
now please read the NEWBIES sticky thread at the top of this forum as it contains everything you need to know , and its entitled NEWBIES for a reason , to get newbies up to speed with the appeals process (yes you have every chance of successfully appealing this invoice and paying nothing at all)
thanks0 -
If the car park where you got the charge belongs to PI of course they can do something about it, and it's all about their responsibility to tell you of their petty rules about car parking I would not let them get away with that!
Personally I would create such a stink over it, which they hate ( I used to work for Whitbread so I know).0 -
Appeal to parkingeye and if they fail to cancel, appeal to poplaDedicated to driving up standards in parking0

Thank you all, i am going to appeal using the Sticky template, will update back once I will hear back from PE.
You guys are superstars :T:T0 -

Parking Eye refused my appeal :mad: but but but there is a good news
:D. I had a call from Premier Inn yesterday regarding the complaint I made few week backs about my parking fine. The Lady I spoke to yesterday was friendly and helpful (as appose to when I was making the initial complaint, she was blaming me all the way through without knowing the circumstances etc) long story short she apologies and said that Priemier Inn will tell Parking Eye to cancel my PCN :rotfl::rotfl::T:T
Thank you very much for your HELP, everyone in this forum is a star :A:A:A:A:A:A:A.0 -
I'm a fan of Premier Inn and use their sites all over the UK. I always leave feedback on Tripadvisor. I've never had this kind of problem BUT if I did I would be leaving a stinking review. I always check on there before staying anywhere, this tale would make me go elsewhere.
There's no way a customer should be forced to suffer this kind of abuse - cancelling the charge is the least they could do. I'd be asking for the room fee to be returned as a form of compensation for the distress caused and as a measure of how sorry they really are. Remember what you pay includes a large amount of profit and VAT so the actual cost to them would be quite small.:j0 -
I am hoping for some guidance please.
I had exactly the same experience as in this thread...and step beyond.
I stayed with my family at Earlsdon Premier Inn in March 2014. Got the Parking Eye letter for having out car outside whilst we unloaded after a long drive. There were no other cars in the car park. As soon as I got the initial letter, I spoke to the manager/ assistant managers there, who after some initial reluctance, contacted Parking Eye. They phone me back to say it was dealt with and would be dropped by Parking Eye. I had several hate filled letters but they eventually ceased.
I thought it was done and dusted until yesterday (6/10/15) when Debt Recovery Plus contacted my for £150 about the "fine" saying they would issue a County Court Judgement. I have submitted a stink of a review on Trip Advisor and also asked the assistant manager to contact Parking Eye again, although he was struggling to find our booking on the system (no idea why – so I am going through our records here). He also stated they would *not* contact the Debt Recovery company. So I'm wondering where I stand, what I sensibly need to do to get this handled, and if this can escalate. The worst thing about is worry and stress. It is alike cloud over my head.0 -
DRP will not take you to court as their game is taking a slice of any money recovered. They are debt collectors.
However PE are extremely litigious and you need to get back onto Premier Inn to Instruct PE to cancel. It is never too late for them to do this so don't be fobbed off.REVENGE IS A DISH BETTER SERVED COLD0
