Tesco Mobile Contract Help!
Options
Afternoon all, wondering if anyone can give me some advice.
I recently took out a contract with Tesco Mobile, to cut a long story short I cancelled the contract the day after taking it out due to it not being as good deal as I first thought, when I cancelled I was assured the new handset hadn't been dispatched and I was refunded (also I cancelled the Direct Debit) However two days later I received the phone, obviously called Tesco who said they didn't even know it had been sent to me! They said they would send a prepaid jiffy bag for me to return the phone to them in, however I haven't received said jiffy bag and haven't heard anything else from them other than an email to confirm my refund.
Any advice on what to do, its getting a bit annoying having to chase them up about it, surely the ownus is on them to retrieve the handset they sent out in error and had no record of sending out!?

Presumably it was delivered by courier? You should have just refused the delivery, but now you have the phone I think you definitely have some responsibility to ensure it is returned to them, even if it is a pain.0

Yes it was delivered by courier however as we were expecting other parcels at the time (including another phone from a different company) we didn't know it was from Tesco Mobile until we opened it.
Yes I accept I have soms responsibility to return it, I certainly don't want it sitting here - perhaps when I ring Tesco again this afternoon I should push for them to get a courier to collect it?0 -

I'm not suggesting you would have to pay said bills, but it might be less hassle all around to just get rid ASAP.0 -
Thanks for the replies,
Rang them this afternoon and unbelievably my request for a returns jiffy bag last week hadn't even been processed due to 'an error' so they have now informed me one is on its way (had confirmation email too) and that it will be here early next week... I wait in anticipation!0 -
see if can take back to a Tesco mobile storeDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Jeez - don't send it Recorded whatever you do. SD is the only way you'll have it tracked an full compensation. Recorded cannot be used for mobiles.0

I think the moral here is - do your homework re contracts BEFORE placing an order and save yourself some hassle later.0
