Great photos and well done you for getting the photo onto the internet!! They're so pretty MM, hope they give you lots of lovely eggs.
I do envy you, wish I could have chickens but not possible in this rented property; we always kept chickens whilst I was growing up, nothing like a freshly laid egg for breakfast!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

1. Hi MoanyMoany - ahhh! They're cute. I think that one looking straight at me looks like a "Myrtle" to me!
2. On my earlier worry of this morning - there are times when one does not like being proved right - and this is one of them. The Burmese government are now attacking the protestors and to date have killed 5 monks. I am going to have to read more about what their repressive government has been doing - I'm not that political a person (some would dispute that!).
For those interested - it would appear the email address of the Embassy of the Union of Myanmar (Burmese embassy) in London is:
memblondon@asl.com
my email has gone off posthaste - and I hope they get deluged. It does particularly shock me when I see peaceful Buddhist monks getting killed like that - courtesy of their own "government".0 -
My email has gone too Ceridwen! I was appalled by what I've seen on the various news channels today.
Edited to say its been returned 'undeliverable'. I had checked the email on the internet and its the right one so maybe they shut the account down if they've been inundated with protesting emails?
I'm off to look for another email and also to fire a copy of this one off to my local mp.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Thank you rosieben
Great minds think alike! Proud of you for "doing your bit". Got your p.m. - thank you. We may all only be able to do a tiny bit - but each tiny bit counts. There is a maxim (correct word?) that for each person who protests, 10 others are agreeing with them. You and I between us have just counted for 22 people then on the side of peace and justice. I do think we must not get so "tied up" with our own personal lives that we lose count of the "bigger picture". God alone knows our own "personal lives" can weigh pretty damn heavy sometimes with various problems to sort out - and I personally have various personal problems going on at present (including money ones - hence MSE website - good point at which to say "thank you Martin for it":money: ) - but its imperative to remember the "bigger picture" as well and not just focus on sorting out our own personal stuff (important as it is).
Right at this very moment - between my own personal stuff I am dealing with and hearing about this - I am, to use British understatement "not a happy bunny".
Do keep trying with the emails Rosieben - you have my admiration for doing what little us "ordinary people in the street" can.
(Ps NOTE TO MODERATORS - Any chance of sorting out the funny width thing thats going on on this thread right now - I am seeing it too wide - and losing bit of the right-hand side of text in process. Thanks. It may be connected to my p.c. has been going bit "odd" for last 24 hours or so - but I think its just this thread.)0 -

Cant press quote button at present to do your quote - as its vanished off right-hand side of screen - but can you post on here any correct email address you get please - as I guess my email will also return undelivered to the email address I used?
Thanks.0 -
I'm not a moderator, but have been following this thread. I think if you just scroll across you will find the thanks button.
The reason the thread is extra wide is because of moanymoany's super big picture of her lovely chickens!
Hope you get through with the emails.0 -
Thanks Chipps
Seen your message. Will keep trying to get my screen sorted whilst hoping the powers-that-be can sort.0 -

so far I've only managed to get it to the British Embassy in Burma Consular.Rangoon@fco.gov.uk and asked if they would forward it (cheek!); fingers crossed! I'm also copying it to my MP - wont be much use knowing my MP but nil desperandum! I'll let you know if I find any other email addies... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Thanks Rosieben
Still unable to use "thanks" button as off somewhere in limbo on right-hand side of screen. Been looking for something to scroll across as per Chipps' suggestion - but nada. Oh - I wish I was computer-literate!.
I cant even figure out how to contact moderators to ask them to deal with width thingie - if anyone else knows enough about computers/how to use this website to do so I would be grateful if you could do so. You wouldnt be stepping on my toes - I'd appreciate it. Thanks.0
