Keep proof of postage and a copy of the letter. That is your insurance I would also ask them for an email address as well send a duplicate to that also.

Have you phoned catalogue people I found that people would rather you contact them straight away before things get out of hand. Never had catalogue s so don't know what they are like but presume they would also like to be able to try help you sort things out.

I phoned them a short time ago and said I was struggling but they said they couldn't really help unless I got in touch with a debt help company and I thought I was until I read up but they are both on my call list tomorrow I will let them know of the situation

    Hello there,

You can ask your bank to remove any authority that you may have given them to take a card payment. As the others have said, the 14 day cooling off period is mandatory. Do consider going through our online, self-help system My Money Steps - as it can make recommendations about the best way forward. If a Debt Management Plan is the right option for you - you can do it for free.

Here are some useful links for you:

    Very best wishes,

    David @ National Debtline.

I know these people can be very persuasive, after all its there job to make money from you, but in future, always hang up, never deal with anything to do with debt over the phone, all to easy to get into something you didn't want too !!

Lesson learned methinks, also Re : catalogues, which companies are they ?
