Maybe.. But OP is facing the prospect of having no insurance at all otherwise, which I'd imagine would make mortgage provider unhappier.

Is there any way for OP to challenge the voiding of the insurance? They appear to have answered the questions asked by the insurer within the terms of the questions, and certainly to the best of their knowledge, so it seems unduly harsh and not treating the customer fairly for them to be penalised for this in such a way. Is there any avenue of onward complaint?

The broker I have used the last 2 years told me that Ageas specialise in flood claims so that is who I am with at the moment. I haven't made a claim so can't tell you how good they are when you need help though.
