When I left the FCO I received a 6 page letter from the FCO Pensions Case Officer dated 17 October 2003. That letter contains a detailed Estimate Statement of my Preserved Benefits. It might be just as well that I've still got it!
Have you provided a copy of this to MyCSP?0 -
No! Why should I try to help what's appearing to be an expensive public funded flawed system?0
-
I dunno, because maybe you want your money?
Or maybe you have so much you don't care? That sounds a bit like the FO actually
I felt bad for you, but now, not so much0 -

It might be the quickest route to getting your pension into payment?
Or is there some secret kind of satisfaction to be obtained in "They're stupid and I'm not giving them the answer, so there!"
Cutting off your nose to spite your face?0 -
And see post 5 - would any of the information contained in the "six page letter" enable you to log in? ( For example, one employer I know of allocated a "personal number" to each member of staff which connected to his pensions record - did the FCO have such a system?)0

If MyCSP had asked me for any proof of entitlement, then I'd have sent them a copy of my letter. Next time I speak to them I'll mention it, and post their response.
I'm going to let this run it's course, not for any personal satisfaction, but so that I can submit a complete and concise letter (not sure who to yet!), which if it's acted on by the right people, might just help others who find themselves in the same situation.
This thread might also sow a seed for anyone reading it who's approaching their 60th birthday to contact Capita a bit earlier than 2 months before their effective entitlement date.0 -

I've tried several times to register as you suggested at post #5, but no joy.
To register on-line you need to enter your NI number. I think the NI number needs to already be on the Capita database. The FCO haven't informed Capita about me, so Capita don't have my NI number.
Yep, I've a "member number". I gave that number to MyCSP during my initial call to them on 7 December.0 -

To be fair to you, this does seem to be a "There's a hole in my bucket, dear Liza" situation! (You remember the old song?)
However, if I had been in your position, I would have supplied a copy of the letter to MyCSP/Capita at this point. Two months prior to my 60th birthday.
At the beginning of December 2013 I phoned Capita Hartshead. I was informed by them that they had no record of me, and that I should phone MyCSP in Liverpool.
Contacts with MyCSP.
- Phoned MyCSP on 7 December, and told them I had been referred to them by Capita Hartshead. MyCSP had no record of me either, and they needed to get all my employment information from the FCO
You would then have done all that you possibly could to clarify matters, and were you still not in receipt of your pension, would "really, really" as the Spice Girls might say, have grounds for a complaint?:)0 -
Just thought I'd tie this thread up.
Got a phone call from MyCSP late yesterday afternoon. They've received all they need from the FCO, and my pension and lump sum have been authorised for payment. A letter to me is in the post, and I should contact Capita as soon as I receive it.
Just received the letter, and phoned Capita.
A form's in the the post for me to complete payment details.
And the even better news for me is that both the pension and lump sum are more than I was expecting.
The lump sum is going straight on a Funeral Bond for me and the cook! Happy Days.:)0 -

All the hassle has left you losing the will to live........?
And I should watch what the cook stirs into the soup!:D0
