Vehicle Breakdown Cover

ADAC are an awful company to deal with though. Very limited English speaking on membership, it normally takes several phone called to find one. Lost my credit card details repeatedly on renewal, then I found out they had actually suspended my membership. Paid over the phone by card, all went through, and then they told me it would be two weeks to process the card payment, then my membership would be re-instated. I rang as I was going abroad the next day. I only found out I wasn't a member because I rang the UK number to check. Interestingly, the breakdown centre was in Europe, but they told me they were the AA, and didn't deal with ADAC members for breakdowns. I had to ring Germany, log my European breakdown there, and ADAC would email the AA centre to authorise a call out. So maybe ADAC mess them about as well, and the AA are fed up of them? Any new members on here got the contact details for UK breakdowns, and I'll check if they've changed recently with mine. Oh, and don't lose them, it's nearly impossible to find European contact numbers apart from the one list that came when you first join.0

Autonational Rescue's top policy costs £66 for the first car (£33 for a second), and includes caravan cover.
My reading of the policy document suggests that the caravan is considered to be part of the vehicle when if comes to cover. But it would be a good idea to ask them to make sure.If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -

Definitely not my experience - I think I've only once phoned and spoken to somebody whose English was limited to "I am sorry, but my English is not good enough - can you call back later, as all my colleagues are busy."Any new members on here got the contact details for UK breakdowns
Yes, you need to call Germany - rather than the AA's international centre. But just ask, and they'll call you straight back (from a call-centre offshored to a lower-labour cost country... Croatia)
Both times I've used ADAC from the UK, the AA van's been with me in under an hour.
Perfect? Far from it. We got mucked about when we broke down in France, but it was largely the VW dealer we were taken to. ADAC's communications were lacking, though.0 -

This is very strange.
Not my experience either.
It doesn't sound like the ADAC that I'm a member of.
There is no UK number.
All contact numbers are on your membership card.
There are only 2 numbers which work everywhere in the world:
For breakdowns: 0049 89 22 22 22
For everything else: 0049 89 76 76 76
The call centre has nothing to do with the AA.
I've phoned and/or emailed for lots of things as their services cover much much more than just breakdowns - camping, traffic info, alpine passes closed in winter etc.
Everyone without exception that I've contacted speaks English, or will immediately transfer you you to someone who does.
It's all just so simple.0 -

There _is_ a UK number (and various other countries) on the leaflet that ADAC sent through when we first joined (a bit over three years ago). But when I first rang that (a year ago), they said that was the AA Euro control centre, and I should ring Germany.

Yup - you guys are out of date.
It was mentioned in a newsletter a good few years ago now.
It's also on their brilliant web-site.
register for 'My ADAC' / 'Mein ADAC'.
You can order a new card and windscreen sticker (will all the numbers) free online.
I use google chrome and all the pages in German are automatically translated.
