Upgrading In 02 Shop With Retention Deal

Hi guys, just a word of advice to anyone wanting to upgrade their 02 phone with them in a store. I work in one, and just remember, no matter how much you threaten to go elsewhere if you are not happy with your deal, we cannot do anything about it in the store. We can only offer you what we can offer to a new customer, or keep you on your exsisting deal, nothing more, nothing less. So as much as we would love to keep you, we would have to let you walk, threatening to cancel in the shop makes no difference at all. And also, generally if you are offered a save deal by retentions, part of the conditions of that deal are that you take any new handset via them, not the shop.
Lastly, if you have say 1/2 price line rental for 1 year, when you come to upgrade, or just automatically 1 year later, that deal will end, so no matter if we dont touch your tarrif in an upgrade, any save deal would cease ie it would just go back up to normal price. Hope this saves some people hassle and stops some customers just thinking the store staff are just being difficult, we aren't, we honestly cannot do it in the shops.

CC limits £26000
Long term CC debt £0
Total low rate loan debt £3000
Almost debt free feeling, priceless.
Ex money nightmare, learnt from my mistakes and never going back there again, in control of my finances for the first time in my adult life and it feels amazing.

Or stick to PAYG?
Been on PAYG for years now and prefer it, £10 a month and get 300 texts and a few minutes thrown in,
Cheers for the advice though0
