Suggest OP and anyone else who gets sting by this write a review on trip advisor about Fantasy Island Parking.

Unfortunately I can't write a post on my firm's website (which I do every week) as I am starting to get the hang of using Search Engine Optimisation to get posts higher into google. It might cause a few work problems for me though.

Just an update and thanks Coupon-mad for restarting the tread and warning others.

I phoned Fantasy Island on the 17-06-2014 after my second letter from cps. As before that date, I didn’t know who owned the car park (named sunnymead on the yellow ticket and named Eastgate car park, sea lane, PE25 1RH on the licencing agreement between cps and Fantasy Island)

The man I spoke to (I think it was stuart marvell) said that if we had spoken to someone at Fantasy Island that day they might have be able to fix the problem! Now it was out of their hands and they could not or would not help me.

I also followed the call up with several emails to different department and didn't any received reply's.

I have since sent two letters to Fantasy Island one to their Trading Address & one to their Registered Office and had no reply's.

I called them again 01-07-2014 I spoke to stuart marvell and was told it’s out of their hands, he told me they photo any car’s without tickets and then email them over to cps, he didn’t care less if I had a fine & court fee’s because it was my own fault for not displaying my ticket correctly and not talking to the parking attendant at the time.

I told him there was none to be seen and we looked, his replay was well how did we get the ticket in the first place if there were no attends about! My guess was any attendant if present were probably sitting in a car out the way laughing his head off at my family looking for him like a family of meerkats necks craned looking all over for him.

To get rid of me he gave me his manager’s mobile number James Parker

After speaking to James I emailed him a copy of the letter I sent and a copy of the parking ticket I purchase and here is his reply -

    Hi

We have been in touch with CPS and are unable to change the fine as issued. It would appear that had you contacted us as soon as you received the ticket we may have been able to stop the process.

Fantasy Island is committed to ensuring people enjoy their time with us and in this case there has been a situation that has caused distress.

I would like to invite you and 3 guests to the park for a free day on the rides as a way to ease your distress.

Once again I am sorry we are unable to help any further with the parking fine but hope to retain your custom and goodwill by offering you these ride passes for the day.

I hope you accept this gesture and please contact me when you are intending to visit and I will have your ride passes waiting for you.

    Regards
    James

Needless to say we declined his invite to visit Fantasy Island again as we can’t afford to fill our car with petrol and travel for well over 4 hour (round trip) that would not easy my distress!

I explain again we didn’t know who owned the car park that’s over the road from Fantasy Island as it’s not attached to the complex it just said cps on the signage from what I remember, who I had never heard of at the time and there were no parking attendants in the car park when we got back to the car if there was one of course we would of spoke to them.

We also drove around the other car parks down the road looking for the attended thinking that they might patrol other car parks in the area.

Fantasy Island could not care less we were spending our hard-earned cash at their so-called family resort what a joke,

Am I right in think that any money given to cps would be split with Fantasy Island, minus and court cost?

By the way, we paid £3:00 for our ticket from 14:26 to 17:26 on Monday April 14th, which from fantasy island website they class it as High season parking at £5 all day. When we arrived, the car park was half-empty as it was a normal school day but our school has a Training Day.

We’ve not heard from cps again as yet but I’m sure we will soon and I will post the details.

I will be contacting watchdog & leaving reviews and warning others on various websites,

I just hope his sort of thing does not happen to other families in the future as it upsetting and very stressful, and I’ve not even got to the bailiffs stage yet, as I don’t have the money to pay even if I want to,
I’m guessing it will get to that stage soon enough as cps won’t supply me with my POPLA number.

    Any advice would be great.

    Thanks

You need to complain DVLA and BPA Ltd. that CPS has rejected your appeal without providing a PoPLA code.

Don't worry about this, Porky Perky would be insane to take you to court when (i) you have the evidence that you paid and (ii) no court is going to believe that "You are permitted not to display the ticket you just paid for in return for £100" is a genuine contractual offer.

To the OP, Have you tried contacting Fantasy Island Ingoldmells about the behavior of their contractors Combined Parking Solutions?
I believe the OP has done. And will be complaining to the BPA about the lack of POPLA code.

Yesterday I sent a letter to cps to say I was not the driver that day.

Today receive a call from someone a fantasy island after sending James an email asking, as you would have funded our 'free visit' then I would rather you used the money to 'pay off' my 'fine' please, to spare me court.

but it’s the same story there not happy with the bad publicity and cps have refused point blank not to drop the case ,and fantasy island will not pay the fine. The man also said cps was a good company he’s clearly not tried to deal with them.

I was told by the man at fantasy island to call cps today and it had to be today as they would like to speak to me and ask for to Alex or mike,

I spoke to Alex who had no idea why I called and no one wanted to talk to me! However, I could pay them £40 to drop it case against me I said no, in the same breath Alex said but now I have told them I was not the driver they are going to pursue my partner who was the driver and take him to court!

Also they said that if I had appealed in the first 14 day of getting the ticket they would have cancelled the ticket, but I did send them a letter on the 15th April the day after I got the ticket, with an explanation and a copy of the ticket which they claimed not to have received! very convenient. I will be looking for the proof of postage

The ticket I got on my car did not even state anything about time length of a appeal it just said payment of £60 in 14 day or £100 over 14 days.

They were quite pleased that the car reg was wrong-by-one digit (bloody dyslexia) because it looks like it was for a different car, another reason to go after us!

So now, my partner will not have the so-called 14-day appeal, so even if we sent another letter of explaining about what happened that day.

Now I spoke to them I guess there thinking of ways to twist my words,

I can’t express how unhappy and angry I’m feeling now.

Hmm James seems to think Perky's contractual charge is a "fine".

Fantasy island is right. Combined Parking Solutions and fantasy island seems a good match.

To be fair James and the guy who rang me early have tried their best, and have been very understanding I just don’t think they get it yet I’m sure it will become apparent in the future when more family use the car park in the holidays hopefully this will be a warning to others!

And I hope the first thing they do is put a sign up to indicate were to go if there’s a problem with your ticket.

I need a break from this thanks to all

OK but I have pm'd you the complaint detail to send back to James. He certainly has not done his best although I'm sure the reply was well meant. He's being played by the mere agent, and he's simply offered their standard thing for when people moan about anything (his reply was made up of template paragraphs).

Also you need to email the BPA and reply to Mr Scott at CPS to tell him he is wrong about the driver had had no reason to withhold a POPLA code so you expect it now by return, unless they have decided to cancel the PCN.
