  • hi

last week i too received a letter asking me to ring MBNA as they were reviewing claim that i made in 2012 but was not upheld. I rang them they asked what my earnings were in 2001 when i took out my card, what my sickness benefit was when i was employed, how long was i in continuous employment for at the time and where was the employment - it was with borough council at time. I must admit when i lost my claim in 2012 I did put in a complaint to the FOS but not heard anything from them since, i assumed the review was due to this. Not heard any more
  • Hi all, my hubby received a similar letter from MBNA yesterday regarding a Virgin CC (lifestyle Protect) product that we had from 2009-2011. The original claim was not upheld. We rang and they only asked a couple of questions, what was his then salary and how much would his redundancy package have been. She could not give a timescale on any reply but that it was being looked at again and that we would be contacted at a later date. Fingers crossed, we paid over £650 in, every little helps!
hi All, any news from anyone with regards their MBNA claim. We have rang a few time being told that its till under review. Last time they said there was no timescale.:(

  • I had a original complaint paid out by MBNA following a court visit back in 2011.

Not thinking much of it, I took the cheque banked it and never thought about it again until June this year I received a letter from MBNA informing me of a review and a payout of nearly 5k.

After some issues it turns out they wasn't aware of the court payout (different departments not talking I assume) and after some conversations and noticing PPI was still being paid on the account I received the difference between original payout and new offered payout

Credit where Credit is due, MBNA were great throughout and very helpful !

    Just thought I would update.
Recieved a letter today, they have reversed their original decision and a cheque for £880 should be on it's way in 28 days. Good for them.:j

  • Hi All
Just saw this thread, I received a letter yesterday from MBNA to say they were also reviewing a previous claim i submitted in June 2012. They asked a few questions about my employment back in 1998. Do you think i have a chance with this claim? I remember being sure that i had a case and couldn't believe they had dismissed it. I also had a large balance on that card so hoping to have a windfall. Also what sort of timescales did anyone else have to wait when they got this letter? Thanks
