Will paying one month make a difference

Thank you for the advice. I am looking at a contract with calls, texts and data all in so no way to spend over the monthy bill ( hopefully!)
I don't even know what my chances are of being accepted but I'm hoping that being accepted for a credit card will help.
You need it to be capped or actually unlimited - many plans are legally called "unlimited" but it is rarely true, once you pass the "fair usage" limit the bills can rise very quickly.0 -
I would agree that a capped contract is the way to go. Tesco do great capped contracts with free phones.0

He bought his teenage daughter a smartphone, on a capped contract.
With about 7 months left to go, the phone got broken, so he's paying £14pm, for a contract that isn't being used.
That would be the case whether it was capped or not. You can get a replacement SIM and put it into a new (or second hand) phone though.
I'd also be making the daughter pay for the phone herself to teach her to take care of things more - then again I am known to be a hard Dad!0 -
And where do the kids get there money from? in most cases its the parent - so either way you're paying out again to continue with that contract..That would be the case whether it was capped or not. You can get a replacement SIM and put it into a new (or second hand) phone though.

Of course it would, but I was agreeing that a contract won't be very good value, if no calls, texts or data is used, because the phone isn't working. You can get a replacement SIM and put it into a new (or second hand) phone though.
You can, and I suggested a simple flip phone (about a tenner at CFW), but she's adamant she won't use such a phone.I'd also be making the daughter pay for the phone herself to teach her to take care of things more
She's 13, so doesn't have any money of her own, to pay for it.0
