Useless dongle - can I cancel contract?

I have a 3mobile internet dongle, I used to have no bother with it but now it's very unreliable and I can rarely get a connection.

The contract is almost at an end so I've been fairly laid back about it but last night I got quite mad that I am paying for internet I can rarely use! Can I cancel it early??

No. At least not without paying an early termination charge.

There is a short window of typically 7 days to cancel any of these mobile internet contracts penalty free right at the beginning. Some of the monthly payment is paying for the device.

If you do want to use the dongle then putting it on a USB extension near a window will usually help. You could even dangle it outside.

Thanks for reply. How annoying! Luckily I only have a month or two left on it now so will be cancelling as soon as I can.

I suspect that lots of people in my town have jumped onto the 3 internet dongle bandwagon, AND 3 have admitted to network problems so the 2 issues put together probably explain why I can rarely get online. It's annoying here as my town has it's own phone company who have the monopoly on the area, so we can't take advantage of phone and internet package deals from sky/BT/virgin/talk talk.
