    I'm happy to say that I have been accepted for a money transfer of £4000,

    Nicely "addressed"!

    I had an MBNA Amex and was rejected for an Amazon card. I don't know if the two things are linked but I have never been rejected for any card or credit at all in my life before.

    I cancelled the Amex but Amazon have since stopped marketing a card.

    Well, I decided to bite the bullet and apply for the MBNA card, once I was sent through to their website, I was offered a 0% but only over 18 months, which TBH is much better than a kick in the teeth, only downside is that I didn't get an instant answer as to wether or not I have been accepted.

    Days have gone by since applying, and I'm happy to say that I have been accepted for a money transfer of £4000, which will go toward my highest interest loan, in the hope of tackling my mountain of debt a lot quicker than planned. :)

    How did they let you know, did they contact you or did the card just arrive?

    I'm looking to do a money transfer. I applied for a Virgin card, and was accepted, then a couple of days after I applied for a Fluid card but got a message saying they would need to do further checks.
    I got a call from MBNA, they asked why I wanted the cards, and said I don't have a lot of credit history (I have a mail order account).
    They said if I send them a couple of payslips/bank statements, they will look at them and make a decision.

    Hoping they approve!

    My MBNA history-
    Virgin Money card, instantly approved;
    Virgin Money card closed by me;
    MBNA Platinum, instant approval;
    American Airlines AAdvantage, instant approval;
    Fluid low rate, instant approval;
    Virgin Atlantic Black, asked me to contact them, then approved upon limit reshuffle;
    MBNA Platinum limit increased automatically;
    MBNA Platinum cancelled by me;
    Virgin Atlantic White, referred, informed approved two days later without contacting them following another limit reshuffle;
    Fluid low rate cancelled by me.

    So, in summary - I've never had a decline from MBNA, but it's got to the point where they've allowed me as much credit as they're comfortable with and are reshuffling, but still giving me the cards. I expect if I applied for another now it'd be declined, but if I gave it 3-6 months managing the three I still have left (AA and both Virgin Atlantic cards), I'd expect to be ok again.

    My current MBNA limit across all the cards is around £9k, but was £16k before my latest application and couple of closures - I've also recently taken a second Barclaycard, which gave me an £8.5k limit, and, with all my other cards, limits well exceed salary, so it goes to show they take into account your other available credit from their monthly CRA feed too.

    I actually emailed them over this question:

    "Good afternoon Sir/Madam

    Thank you for your email.

    Yes, if accepted it is possible for you to hold a MBNA credit card and Virgin Money credit card. For the immediate future, MBNA will continue to service Virgin Money credit cards."

    Just to update this, I've received an email this morning from MBNA saying I've been approved for the Fluid card :)

    Now looking forward to paying off my car finance, and paying no interest!
